Not sure whats out for it TBH. Try superchips (bluefin), revo or APR. If there is nothing listed for the ibiza try the polo's or other VW Audi group cars with the same engine. It will give you an idea of the possible gains when one does come out.

At a guess you may get it to around 130bhp which is mk4 FR standard power.

None of the big companies have got products for the 1.6crtdi at the minute (Revo, CustomCode, AMD, Superchips) for Seat or any other member of the VAG group.

Pure Speculation, but the 1.9tdi which the 1.6 replaces could be remapped to give 130bhp and 320nm, so given that the original output of the 1.6 is the same as the 1.9 i would expect similar results as and when a map becomes available

I am also looking for a re-map but as the common rail engine is new there is nothing out for it yet, I would settle for 130 bhp and 250 nm torque that would be nice!

Yeah really impressed with the power and torque still, dont think there is much out that is as quick for £35 tax a year. But, tried to follow a VW Boring TDI up a long steep hill the other day and it just kept pulling away from me, not happy!

If we do get a remap which pushes ~130bhp+ does that mean we can officially change the D in TDI to red by the side indicators???

lol yeah i tried that but lost on a hill... lol that what i want to improve! once i drove me dads leon fr tdi, i want mine to be like that! its a beast.. power to weight ratio... think it will be around the same after a remap??

One of the major problems you might encounter is anti-tuning software built into some of the new VAG Common Rail engines, however you could try contacting Angel Tuning (details available on their website). I know they are able to tune most of the Common Rail engines, I have seen 185PS from the 143PS 2.0 CR TDi, and they should be able to get around 130PS from the 1.6 CR TDi.

Nice one Generic ruin our fun!:)

don't think the warranty would be void for the whole car but if you blow your engine and they found a mod then it would be void for fixing the engine, if that makes sense.

Yeah, but the manufacturers could claim the following: more engine power = more strain on the rest of the vehicle/ I doubt it'd just affect the engine's warranty personally, although I don't know the inner workings of Seats warranty department so take what i say with a pinch of salt.

I'll probably wait a few years till mapping mine up :p.

I'm pretty sure any re-map is reversible if necessary. Take from that what you will.

Yeah, if you blow the engine up with a remap, make sure it gets taken off before taking it to the dealership, heh.

Simon from Angel Tuning said:
Sadly we are unable to perform any ECU work on your Seat, however Angel Tuning can supply an ITG sports air filter, which uses a patented tri foam filtration element as used in their competition induction systems. This will increase the power by a further 1 – 1.5% due to the improved air flow rate and further improve the throttle response. The price on this is £60.00 plus £2.95 P&P

No joy there either.
Surely someone in the UK must be looking at remapping the 1.6tdi given that diesel's are traditionally good remapping potential, it can't all be about the Cupra/Bocanegra surely?

You can get a remap for the 1.4TDi i'm sure something will come out!

Would be very nice too! 130-140bhp felt great in a skoda VRS.

I'm quite surprised that Angel Tuning were unable to help, as previously posted I know they are able to re-map the 2.0 TDi Common Rail engines. There are some issues that exist with anti-tuning software built into VAG Common Rail engines, and as far as I'm aware this is the only major factor that was preventing companies from tuning them. I'm sure there will be a fix for the anti-tuning software available in the near future (fingers-crossed anyway)

As much as I would like to have my 1.6tdi cr tuned as I can only assume that it would produce some good results, I have a niggling thought in the back of my mind.

More power = more fuel = more soot = more dpf lights to clear.

And ultimately even more reason for your local friendly stealer to worm their way out of the warranty.
