A bit after the fact, I know, bit I thought that a couple of weeks brim to brim mpg comparison might be interesting. Using both cars for approximately 25:75 traffic to 75mph motorway runs, using kickdown or full throttle to join the motorway where necessary, I achieved:
1.2 FR DSG: 48.51mpg
1.6 FR TDi: 57.94npg.
I appreciate that this isn't scientific and different pumps were used, plus non-identical driving conditions. I used Esso Premium unleaded and diesel respectively but find that branded standard derv is equally as good.
Hopefully useful if anybody is planning to buy either.
