1.6S rear bumper

My dad needs to replace the black plastic section at the bottom of the rear bumper, on his 1.6 S Leon. He has been to the dealers and has been told you can't buy the plastic section separately and you have to buy the whole bumper. Is this correct as they want almost £250 for it.

Also looking at the diagrams in the dealer it seems to have a section cut away for the rear exhausts (like the cupra has). Is this correct. I get the feeling they are trying to sell him a cupra rear bumper.

Can anyone help?

could be right,
stealers (such an apt word) want 300+vat from my cupra front and then another 250+vat to paint and fit

do you not have a decent breakers yard nearby that may be worth looking at?

It just seems silly that you can't buy the black plastic bit on its own. There is nothing wrong with the painted bit, we only want the black plastic bit. Im not even sure the bumper they are trying to sell him is the right one as it has section cut away for the exhausts, which his existing one doesn't

agree with you there - i thought the cupra r had the black plastic but with cut away for exhausts where as other do not, the exhausts tend to point downwards.

Yes thats right the other (non cupra) models, have an exhaust which points down not so no need for a cut away piece. Does anyone know the part number we need?

call a different stealer and ask them, stressing that NOT the cupra r one, but if same response of all in one piece, then breakers yard or whole bumper looks like
