I have a ibiza 1.6 tdi recently had the glow plug light ,eml light, and dpf light flashing got it plugged into a diagnostic machine today came up with the code po403 i know its egr related.

Can it be cleaned out or am i looking at new one ? Also whats the cost involved ?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Have a look here - http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/16787/P0403/001027

There are some checks to do but the final fix seems to be - replace the egr valve

Cheers for the info there mate appreciate it since deleting the code done 20-30 miles nothings come on ! Guna leave it for a few days and see if it happens again !

The second link talks about manually activating the egr with the engine off using VCDS and listening for the click.

If the fault comes back - I would give that a go first.

I wish you luck with that, but it never works out like that. I've got an old workhorse Toledo that had the ABS light on all day Saturday then went off Sunday morning. Put it down to road salt on the sensor and assumed that there was nothing to worry about. Came back on this morning, always the way.

Spoken to a a diesel tuning company , hes going to turn the egr off completely and keep it in the closed position . That way the egr wont play up again as it wont be used hes done this on at least 40 1.6tdi while im there il be having a stage 1 map !

Think I need to have my egr blanked as I have a 1.6tdi ibiza too, had it mapped and removed the dpf as this caused me a few issues but not had a prob with the egr yet so might get it done before it becomes a problem
