Hi everyone, once again run into problems starting my Leon from cold, car runs up to idle then just dies, no coughing or spluttering, no fuss, no warning lights, it just cuts out

Previously had this problem and it was suggested I change the CTS. I did this but problem remained so I bit the bullet and booked it in to a local VW garage as nearest Seat is now Scunny.

£96 ( part of my lowering budget, gutted!) later I had a newly working car, mechanic told me it had shown no engine faults but had shown something on one of the senders and he was 99% certain this was my problem. I think the receipt said it was a CTS dash insert control unit but will need to find it and check

Car worked fine for just over a week but this morning when I finshed work about 1:15am the car didn't start, took 10 to 15 starts before it caught. What am I looking at now? Can i take it back to VW and get them to do anything for nothing? Check the installed part under some kind of workmanship warranty?

Also once it started I turned my lights on and one blew, is it time for an HID upgrade, are they really that much better than the Phillips x-treme power I was using?

Don't know much about the starting problems if you think it is electrical then I would suggest vag com and see if any fault codes are logged. As for the HID's most definately are an improvement over any of the uprated halogen bulbs I have had my HID's in now for a week and have to say I am very impressed.

I put a help request out for vagcom in Lincoln area a few months ago but heard nothing back. Will post one again tonight after work if no one else has come up with ideas.

Do you have a link to the HID kit you got? I'm thinking about 6000k ones from a link someone posted on here at £54.99, don't want them to look too blue though. Have you had any issues with alignment?
