Hello guys.
Looking at buying the parts to change over my rear windows. Nearly got 4 full doors from fleebay. Should have everything I need in to do the job

Just not sure if the writing will already be pinned in at the door plugs. Anyone know about the wiring on the 2005 1.4

Another thing was is there anyone with VAG COM in the highbridge bridgwater area or anyone who I can go too nearby to take a gander at my CCM as I suspect it would require modifications to take the extra electrics

Thanks

Right I have 4 fully electric doors secured to collect mid week. Hoping this goes okay... Anyone got VAG COM in the Somerset area?

Should be fairly easy, it's just two power and two can bus wires to each door. The can bus ones are orange and something, either green, brown or black. They come from each door, a high bus and low bus then they all join up under the dash, all the highs and all the lows then they a high and low goes to the ccm from there. Just join the can wires where they go to the ccm.

Each door panel should have it's own wiring loom with it's own earth, it just bolts onto the door pillar at each door.

The power wires come from the 30 amp rail along the bottom of the relay panel.
Once you've done that lot it's just a case of coding the ccm to tell it there's four windows instead of two.

While I remember, you'll need to check your ccm part number, it'll either start with 1C or 1J and you'll need to get the window motors to suit. The second digit of the motor part numbers should either be a C or a J too. The C and J systems are different and the two don't work together.

Right
I have checked my drivers window motor in my car and it's different to the letter on the doors I bought! Do you know if the wiring loom for these motors will be the same?

:headhurt: What a nightmare !

Dunno if it's useful or not, but I found this on the passatworld forum;

Unfortunately, the window control is done locally by the electronics on each window motor, and the commands are sent on a data network. There is no traditional 12V switching so it's not as simple as just putting 12V onto a lead. The data network doesn't rely on the presence of the CCM to be functional, and the commands don't pass through the CCM to get to the doors. The CCM only sends commands to roll the windows up or down when it gets an extended lock or unlock command from a door lock
I looked at the wiring harness again. I disconnected the plug for each window at their respective A or B pillar, found the power supply line and ground, put 12v to each and got the windows to go up and down.

I'm by no means suggesting Seatmann is wrong about the CCM numbers ....but you might find that if you use all the 'new' motors it could work fine (with the added advantage that you won't come out to the car one morning to find all the windows wound down) ;)

Nah the ccm just adds the comfort functions like one touch etc but the drivers motor wont talk to the rear ones if they're not the right system so you can't put the windows up and down from the drivers seat, kind of defeats the purpose of having electric windows really.

The J is the older bus system and the C is the newer one.

What part numbers have you got az101? Front and rear and ccm?

I retrofitted the lot in my golf so had to learn a fair bit, it came with manual everything but now it's all electric including remote windows and locking. I had to rewire the ccm, add in the loom to each door then do a lot of programming of the ccm because it came from a hatchback and mine's an estate.

LOL Yeah, that would be a bit rubbish !

I bought all the looms and motors to fit 'leccy rear windows in my Nissan Almera ...(un)fortunately, I wrote it off before I ever got as far as wiring it all up - wouldn't mind betting I'd have run into the same problems

Is the wiring different on the VAG system? ...so you can't accidently plug one type into the other, or will it just not work properly without the right CCM ?

ps - isn't an estate just a hatchback with a bit more roof infront of it ??

At the moment I've only had a chance to look at my drivers windows motor in my car and it's a C so I'm assuming all the rest are C. Working lots at the moment. Will have a look in more depth tomorrow and report back. Easiest way to get to CCM? Or do I have to remove bottom of dash? Will update tomorrow. Oh and if anyone needs any window glass or door handles drop me a message

Bottom right of dash, there's not a lot holding it on, a few screws and some clips. The C set up is the better one though so that's good news, what's the part numbers for the rear ones you picked up?

@TIIEWL The vag system is a bit like computer networks but they need to talk the same language as each other.

As for the estate no, it's different, it has a solenoid for the boot latch that's wired up through the ccm on the newer system and the handle is just connected to a micro switch. It originally had a relay for it but it becomes redundant when doing the conversion. The hatch has a mechanical attachment to the latch from the handle.

Right. My front windows and ccm are currently 1C and all the window motors I picked up are 1J apart from an odd one thrown in. But it looks like the plug on the loom for the 2 motors is different so I need 2x rear door wiring looms and motors for C set up pain in the a**

Just pop into a breakers and get the inner door panels with everything attached including the wiring looms.

Very true.

Would be good if I could but there aren't any in local breakers right now. And the last one in was an 2000 plate which is running the 1 J system I believe. Will have to keep an eye out and still need to find someone local with a VAG COM To take a look at my CCM

Sorry for the late reply Seatmann, had to put this off, been tied up with work,

Yes my CCM is 1C0 959 799 E

I now have a VAG Com and lead and laptop also, so if anyone needs anything in the Burnham /highbridge TA6/8/9 area, then i can help :D

Just learning it, already turned off the selective locking in my car, as it was getting on my nerves!
