its an 1.8 16v. Had quite a bit of work done to it!

should be farely quick

Erm tbh its not that bad. Easier if you have a full donor car like i did for little bits of crap like pipes and lots of little bits you would need to buy!

Hardest bit was making to loom out of the existing one and the 16v one. Binned a whole load of wiring case of course ours are multiplex and the 16v isnt.

So apart from that easy as pie, i got quoted £140 for making the loom but did it myself.

Will see if it goes well in the next few days

Just so yall know its on the road again now. Had a few issues with running etc at first but its all good now just need to stick another box on it. And i dont have a reliable idle but i can deal with that for now.

I do have a little problem tho. The rings have/are going on No. 3 so it looks like a diesel and is using a bit of oil.

As for the wheel situation i still havent pulled my finger out, i scored a free set of brand new Continental Contisport 's from work so the cupra wheels are going back on but i have 'painted' them :D

Hey mate,

i also wanted to run these wheels, but there is one big problem. The Boxsters had them in 6x16 and 7x16 (front and rear). I searched a long time, but i never found a set of 4 in 7x16. 6x16 is definitely to small, looks like toys.

So i changed my plan and took others. One hint, go on the cayenne rims, they are 7.5 x 17 and look really damned great.

Regads, Tobi

Hi Tobi,

I had the same problem but then came accross a matched set, got them from a guy who had them on his beetle, i also looked at them, but they along the way i seem to have acquired a set of cayman 17" wheels. so thats three sets of Porsche wheels. Ooops

Howdy all, Havent posted in a while. Basically im a little fed up atm, car is now running good and does go alright its just something seems to be missing, i cant put my finger on what it is but something about the car just isnt right, soemthing is not sticking with it,

Ideally i would really love to shove a 20vt in it and just go for a bit of a street slag approach but without going the whole nine yards of a fully stripped out thing, but at the same time i dont want like a cack inbetween job just a happy medium. So im really stumped!

Im thinking it may be coming off the road over winter so i can dwell on it and hopefully sort it out!

I just thought i should update to let people know its ok but im just not 100% with it right now!

Its happening, O yes, work begins the 13th of May and i have just over a week to do it, to completely shell my car, inbetween walking dogs and seeing my daughter, its gonna be tough but well worth it i reckon,

Expect massive updates with shed loads of pictures in the next week or so. [B)]

YES i can do it, and yes i did do it!!! woop, i will stick a few pics up when i get chance,

Its all working spot on, a few little things such as exhaust knocking slightly but thats all,

Even had my MOT yesterday, it failed on a brake imbalance,

Passed its emissions as a 1.4 haha, but i will be registering it as a 20vt as soon as i get it all sorted.

Your car is the business mate!! So, you went for the Cupra engine? Good on you!! If you dont badge it up as a Cupra, you may get a d***head in a SaxoVTR trying you on at the lights.. Then just do as Vin Diesel says... "Smoke him"

**Oh, and do you still have your Std Cupra Wheels mate?
