1.4 exhaust on a 1.8t

hey guys

It might be a silly question but i have found a cat back exhaust off of a 1.4 seat leon. its custom and was thinking that if the bore size is ok will it fit onto a 1.8t.

I know that its a long shot that it has the right bore size but was just wondering as its dirt cheep.

what bor is it??
if the bor is ok then yea it will go on, you will prob have to do some thing at the cat though as the 1.4 will differ but to be honest i doubt it will be any good

anything above 2" bore will be fine, just get a customer exhaust place / welder to make you the joint / hinges if required.

It's a powerflow exhaust so don't think the bore is going to be small but will find out from the guy later.

I'm wantin to go stage 2 eventually so worried about restrictions and stuff. But is 2" ok I thought it was 2 and a half inch for high flow

If its a Powerflow it will fit fine and work just fine..

Yer but that's my concern. Is it a normal box and tidly pipes. I wanna go stage 2 and don't want to restrict the engine.

Anyone know the bore of the OEM pipes

Not sure, but the restriction is mainly the OEM downpipe and cat. AFAIK, the standard exhaust isn't too bad.

that box is fooking short!! its guna be a loud one!!!
the kink bit is the pipe that goes over the rear beams etc i take it there is more to the system than this pic as thats not a full cat back, thats going to join just after the oem middle box.

It looks like maybe centre silencer back. Perhaps they confused that with the cat, as the 1.4 cat is right on the engine iirc.

my catback as 2.25 bore i was told anything more than this would reduce power, so its most likely less 2-2.25. if i was you i would get one built to fit your car so its dosnt rattle or anything. also you will get a warranty with it and choose the noise you want.

Just heard back and he says it's a 40mm bore so think it's about a 1.6 inch which is way to small. Going to go and see powerflow and see what they offer.

If anyone is interested in this it's on eBay till 1500hrs today
