Oh yeah! Doh! It's a 2002 with 29k, full history, 1 owner, 12 months MOT, 6 months tax.

That's everything I think, oh, it's Silver......

Is there a common fault on the 1.4 16v because I have looked at two and they have both had the engine check light on. They both drove ok though.

One other thing, I noticed on both cars again a slight judder on idle and the engine was visibly moving, only a tiny amount, I have been told the 1.4 in the ibiza, golf, polo etc all do the same thing. what do you think?

Cheers

seems ok mate my 20vt judders slightly think its the ecu puting rich mixture and weak mixture of fuel in to keep the rev the same 5k is a good price for a pretty fast car!

the cars you have been looking at have probably been sat idol for a bit, the lumpy tick over should clear when it's been driven regularly

as for the engine check light, no it should not be on and if it's been on for a while the car may need a new cat

Yeah true, cars aren't mean't to be sat are they..... it having an MOT as it's ran out so it should pick that up, plus they said they would find out what the light was on for anyway.

I test drove a 75ps version last friday and after battering it down a motorway the light came on..... oops! I was a little dissapointed with it to be honest, unresponsive and not very quick, but a decent drive.... the one I drove yesterday the 100ps version was as you asy very revvy and much better on the road once the revs get up!

What about tuning?

I have an induction kit ready to go on it if i get one, what do they sound like?

Cheers for the advice so far guys

Karl (Beeza) up in manchester has the same car, and think his is pushing 125bhp at the moment after a zorst, induction kit and remap. Its not too slow and sounds very very nice indeed!

I assume there is a way of telling the difference between the 75ps and the 100ps by looking at the engine code...... anyone know which is which?

I have just got home from picking it up, i'm pretty impressed with it! The engine moves a bit more than I would like though.

Does a remap mean lower fuel efficiency? I bought a 1.4 for good mpg or I would have gone for a cupra turbo. Maybe next year....

I fitted my induction kit last night and it sounds pretty good..... culd do with a nice exhaust note now though. What exhaust have you guys got? I don't want a raspy noise just a nice burble.

See the sticky at the top of the Mk4 section mate - plenty info about exhausts. Glad your please dwith the car. Only 38mpg though - I get around 35mpg in my 20VT mixture of short journeys and a bit of M/way - you must be horsing it!

Great cars though - enjoy!
