whats with all the 1.2 bashing anyway? they're brilliant for city driving. sure theyre not massively powerful but whats wrong with trying to get a little extra? even if its 7 extra hp, thats around 10% more power. we dont all have money for the cupras, i wish i did :D

Good point :)

In no way bashing 1.2's, don't go the defensive!

I'm simply stating that remapping alone will make as little as no change to the 1.2. Nothing to do with not having money for Cupras, this has nothing to do with it.

Smart money will be spent learning how to get more from the car as a driver and making the car handle better and stop better. Even stripping the car will be more effective, if a little extreme in some cases.

There are just better ways to get minimal gains. £200 or so for nothing doesn't make sense, unless all you are interested in is having a tad more power than your mates' 1.2 - bragging rights!

Do what you will!:D

Yeah, for sure. I just don't like to see people having the wool pulled over their eyes.

All this talk of knocking off seconds on the 0-62 by remapping the car is nonsense.

to be honest i wrote the thread to say....ive remaped a 1.2 lol. a bit more poke is all we're after. no one is under the illusion we are creating a cupra :p well im not.......!! im only getting mine done after the other mods that will reap the most benefits from remapping. air intake mod, exhaust full system, irridium plugs. just to make it a nicer car to drive. as im keepin it for a good 2/3 years till i can afford an fr or a cupra.

Mine drives far better than the day I bought it, reasons:-
K&N Panel Filter, full service once a year (dealer supplied parts), NEVER EVER put Supermarket fuel in it...Shell or BP only, regulary get over 400 Miles to a tank. Plenty of get up and go for what I want it for, costs me under £300 all in per month, (insurance fully comp, fuel bills, finance, road tax)... I'll be keeping it till I have the £££ for a Leon or and A3. :)

This is the worst video ever! Try 13 secs!

Great video technique!

Why do people video their speedos and then insist it is proof thaty their car can do 0-whatever in a set time? This is not accurate and never will be! GPS or nothing!

ok,it is your problem with belief that car is going 13 or some other time...you clearly can see that is not going on 13sec. btw... some people cant afford gps technic :)

it is funny when ppl dont believe that 70hp, can do some things like that one...

So you can't afford gps, but you can afford to possibly remap your car?

It has nothing to with 70hp. 70hp on very light car can be quick, only not on a Clio unless it has been stripped. The book time for 0-62 is around 15 seconds.

It also has nothing to do with "belief!" You don't seem to undertsand that there is no science in this recording, there are loads of variables...speedo is not accurate, the video is terrible, you could be on an incline...it goes on and on.

But if you are happy then fair enough but you are not fooling me! I don't know why people are obsessed with 0-60 times anyway?!

lol goin a bit of topic. the problem we need to sort out is whether or not our siemans ecu's can be mapped yet, as i think nearly all mk4 1.2s have them? im looking into it :) oh and 200 quid is near enough as makes no difference to 200 euro with the shocking exchange rate atm! im studying in belgium for a year and its ridiculous!

about money .... 200 quid is 230 euro , with 30€ I can go on dyno :) you dont understand , condition in england,or other country , and condition i croatia , or serbia and BiH , whose are a lot cheaper...

Im not fooling anyone , problem is that people cant understand that 70hp ibiza ,can run 11 sec time... i run on complete stock car 17.962 in quater mile... for example , mk3 cupra with 220+ hp , did 15.xxx time , yes it is very very big difference how in time, how in hp-s !

I dont want to assure people to believe or not , btw. first dont want to assure my selfe...
i knew that 1.2 engine with few modds. biger plenum ,flow exhaust, other electronic and one...can go more then 80-85 hp-s ... problem is , will engine pistons, rods , injectors , be able to absorb "power" without any defect...

Im going to do mods on that engine, and I would be very pleased if I find someone with same idea... in end ,if project fails , 2.0 16v is ready for swap...

until
