1.2 rough running, wants to stall

Hi All,
I am looking for some help, my 1.2 ibiza (2004) 65000 mls recently it wont start first time, in damp weather, and when it does start it runs roughly and has a tendency to stall when moving off unless revved up quite a bit.
Reading here it appears that a failing coil pack may be to blame, how would I diagnose this? There are no warning lights coming up on the dash.
Thanks

as said could be spark plugs. to test coil packs i would buy one as they are not expensive and just swap them around and see if it cures it. if not then you always have a spare

Does the motor misfire when off idle??

If not it could be a split vacuum hose, that generally causes a car to idle like a bag of spanners.

But air filter/plugs etc are a good starting point.

Thanks for the suggestions,
the spark plugs and air filter are new. I thought that they might have been to blame but there was no change, it appears to run smoothly when revved but roughly at idle when cold or when it is started first ,especialy in damp or cold weather. it needs quite a few revs to ensure a smooth take off.
I have looked at the hoses in the engine bay and there are no splits /cracks apparent, is there a particular hose I should look closely at?
Another thing it does is with the engine hot or cold if there is a sudden electrical load, like the cooling fan coming on this causes the engine to shudder noticebly , it didnt do this before.
