Hey Cupra Crew,
I Hoping to Gauge the interest here first, and get some advice, as I will probably be selling my Ibiza Diesel Cupra during the summer as I need a Van, and have no room to keep 2 vehicles.
I'd rather a Cupra fan has it, as there are less than 260 left on UK roads.
Its a 2008 (57 plate) 1.9 TDI Ibiza Cupra in Silver although they call it a metallic grey or something.
It is on 194000 :/
BUT
Has Full no expense spared Service history by Seat to 70k(ish) and RK engineering (VAG specialists) in Cornwall to today. Over an inch of receipts. MOT Till November 19.
In the last few years it has had
New clutch and bearing and DMF (OEM)
New Intercooler and hard pipe (Darkside)
New front Shocks, springs, bump stops (OEM)
Cambelt/Water pump next week @ 194k and before @ 120k and 60k.(approx). That's under every 4 years/70k ish.
2 x new front tires Uniroyal Rainsport 3's next week.
New door lock regulator with working microswitch, rear wiper motor, hopefully new door cards coming soon too.
New turbo at Seat around 100k with no whines or faults and still pulls like a train. (OEM)
EGR delete, with blanking plate.
Oil/filter changes at around 6 months, 8k miles, with good oil. Booked in for another next week.
All dust covers/CV gators changed before they split.
Wheel bearings.
Alpine head unit with IPOD connectivity.
New exhaust heat shield.
Wheel refurb, with as close to stock color as we could get in 2018.
Basically serviced with no expense spared throughout it's life. I've owned it for 8 years, Was on contract hire before that for 3 years.
The body work has a few small dents and scratches but nothing that can't be fixed easily, I basically gave up on maintaining the bodywork but have spent £1000's on service/parts throughout the years.
It's been a well loved car and I will be Very Very sad to see it go, it's driven well, but never thrashed and don't go in to the red very often.
The only real problems it has are,
A touch of rust bubble on one arch, very small and I might even get it fixed before selling.
2 small Ciggie burns on driver seat.
Body work/bumpers need some attention.
Occasional limp mode under full load at 3000 rpm,
This only happens with any extra weight on board, and it rarely happens with just me on board, and only in 6th gear, so about 100mph foot flat, I obviously do this in Mexico and not on U.K. roads! I just drop down to 5th and never get any issues. It has done 135MPH+ again in Mexico, and was a one off! ( I value my License for work)
Limp mode brings up an under boost code, key off then on again and off it goes.
It could be a blockage in the exhaust side as I lost a turbo at 90k on a post service test drive by a Seat mechanic, maybe due to an extreme map/existing turbo whine or he forgot to put oil in, who knows but Seat paid 50%
The map was changed the very next day and I might even get my worm camera out to have a look for turbo bits in the exhaust as Seat might not have checked for this, but this Limp mode problem started at 100k (5 years ago) and doesn't really bother me as 5th takes you to 110+ MPH but only in Mexico.
It was mapped by RK and returns a safe 190 ish BHP at the wheels, no issues at all in over 100k, no problems and EVERYTHING works as it should, It's still driven daily.
Only 1 usable key. But I have a spare to open the car when I go surfing, this key won't start the engine!
The front brakes will need replacing in the next few years as will the exhaust, probably, but everything is cool now, I'm just being honest.
It's been driven everyday for the last 8 years I've had it, and it has NEVER let me down, bit of a waste of money having breakdown cover on it but there you go.
Is anyone interested?
What do we think its worth?
I'm not looking for offers just yet, just asking the Seatcupra.net's boys advice.
I will however offer it up here first when then time comes.
£2000 I'd be more than happy with as these are VERY rare cars now and I saw a Yellow one mint with 60k ish miles for about £6000, and a black one at a dealer for £5k with 90k miles on it, Bit extreme I know, but If someone is prepared to pay that, fair enough. Possible future diesel scrappage scheme could make it worth this.
Although its milage might bring that price down a little, I don't want to let it go for peanuts.
What do you think?
Thanks In Advance.
