00588 - Airbag Igniter; Driver Side (N95)

Small problem with my Cupra.

Had to change the heater motor, which meant removing the On/Off switch for the passenger airbag, which puts the airbag light on.

Replaced the motor, and went to turn the airbag light off using VCDS.

However, the light will not turn off, and the following code is coming up;

Now I've never had any problems with the airbags, this code has only come up after messing with the passenger airbag switch. My horn still works, which rules out the slip ring?

Have also unplugged the yellow plug under the seat and plugged it back in, no change.

Any suggestions? Just strange it's only coming up after disconnecting the passenger airbag!

Fixed. Removed the slip ring, and installed it all again, seems to have fixed it! Must have been a dodgy connection in there somewhere.

What is a slip ring?

The slip ring is the part of the steering wheel that makes it possible to turn the wheel without ripping any cables to the horn or airbag.
Its like a big bearing with diffrent conducting rings and pins that transfers the power to the steering wheel. (however i think the airbag connection actualy is a flat cable that is coiled inside the slip ring and thats why on some rings it say that you should not rotate it since it has been adjusted to center from factory.).
