hello, has anyone got any advice on the following, the rear offside tyre on my 1999 alhambra tdi 90 hp is wearing rather oddly, its taken far more tread off on the inside than out, its recently had a new wheel bearing in the hub but there is still a noise, is there anything that can work loose...
Hi,
Need to replace my rear tyres as they now look well worn, but on closer inspection the outside tread was close to the wear indicator, however every run of tread moving inwards gets deeper and deeper, the furthest inside tread line is quite deep so looks like uneven wearing on the back...
anyone else here experiencing wear problems on GSD3 Eagle F1's?
Not wear as in wear rate, but wear pattern.
If you can imagine running your hand over the top of the tyre on the edge (inner and outer) the wear pattern is wavey, kinda 50p shaped wear.
result of which is a wheel bearing...
I have had the tracking set many times to try and slow down the tyre wear on the inner edges of the front tyres on my car.
Finally I went to a place that sets up rally cars and measures more than just tracking.
They have said that the car has too much front camber for road use.

My wifes car (53 plate A3 130tdi) had it's 3rd service last week. The dealer called up to say there is only about 3k miles left in the rear pads. We've had the car from new, it done 51k but never had front pads so I was suprised that the rears have gone first.
The car has the same brake set up...
I have had my LCR for about a month or so and I noticed after a week, that the front tyres are looking bald, almost like slicks. I spoke to the dealer about it and after they took it in the bay to have a look, he summised that there is plenty of wear on them and that I shouldn't worry, the wear...
Just a quick bit of practical advice. I have got my DS2500 pads to go on the LCR (thanks to the excellent guide o nthe front page it looks pretty easy), and I am aware there is a pad wear sensor on the nearside wheel. What exactly do I need to do with it because of the new pads not having that...
Had my car serviced about 6 weeks ago, nothing much needed to be done (3 years old, only done 20k!)
Anyway, the brake pad warning light came on whilst driving home tonight, if it was that bad shouldn't they have picked it up during the service? Incidently, how much are brake pads to get...
I have bought a new set of toyos every year, not from grip running out by huge side wear.
I am getting the tracking done every 3 months as it is always going out.
Anyone else have problems with tracking and tyre wear, I know the toyos are soft but at the moment it is costing me a fortune...
Got my front tyres replaced at the weekend and the place said they couldn't swap the fronts and rears over because the rears had worn funny. I can't see anything obvious like patchy wear or the edge being more worn. Also can't see the damper leaking.
Is this common on leons and should I...
Mentioned it the other day about my rear discs appearing to be not wearing correctly so took some photos today after I had been out and done some town driving. What are peoples thoughts?
This is on both brake discs at the rear of an 05 FR TDi
hi i have just fitted new discs and pads on my toledo mk2 only problem is the new pads had no brake indicator conection on them now the wear light is comming on in dash is there anyway to turn it out without removing the bulb i.e is there a fuse i can take out i cant find one for it on...
ive just changed the front pads on my cupra r to ebc red stuff. because they dont have sensors the brake light indicator is staying on in the dash. is there any way of switching it off anyway? a fuse or something?
I noticed yesterday that my rear pads were much thinner than the fronts and only have about 5mm left after 14000 miles. The rear wheels also seem to get dustier than the fronts. It's a TDi sport with DSG, just wondered if anyone else had noticed similar.
Both my front tyres are going to need replacing because they've worn almost all the tread from the inside. The rest of the tyre is fine but the inside is completely worn? It looks like the kind of wear you'd get if you were running lots of negative camber, but I'm not as far as I know. My friend...
I just bought some Pagid Fast Road pads from redline.co.uk but the pads havent got any wear indicators.
Now does that mean that my break warning light is gonna come on everytime i drive the car?
Cheers guys.
On my left rear tyre the inside of the tyre has worn uneven. Kind of like flat bits intermittently. Is this due to bad camber settings? Anyone had any experience of this or similar?
Thanks
