Hi,
I've recently bought a SEAT Leon Cupra (1.8T) and my immediate happiness :D has been spoilt by the Excess Pollution (engine) light coming on.
I was told by the seller that it came on a while back but then went off on its own, well seems like it's come back on again. He also said...
This guide show’s you in brief how to remove the secondary air injection pump, valve, pipe work plus brackets. All that is required is removing six bolts, three nuts and a bit of time (and patience).
First things first, once everything has been removed you should be left with all the...

Alright people.
I have noticed that now and again my secondary air pump isnt kicking up on a cold start. This seems to be happening all the more since i reset the adaptation by disconnecting the battery. This morning it was pretty cold and the hoover sound wasnt there at all. Car sounds fine...

In the end a garage got the Forge tip on for me. It seemed to pick up a little better and I also saw a small increase in boost on my gauge so I was quite chuffed but 1 week after fitting, the engine light on the dash came on. I've just run VAG-COM on it and it says:
'Secondary Air Injection...
I've just been advised that my Cupra's secondary air pump needs to be replaced. They are not cheap, around £250!!
I've seached through the posts and it doesn't seem to be a common fault (at least not with the Ibizas). So have I just been unlucky or are there other things that should be...
Anyone ever removed their secondary air pump, and/or carbon canister? If so did you get any problems? I've been thinking about removing mine and writing them out in VAG Com but thought i'd check to see if anyone else has done it before I jump in and experiment!!
Anything else that can be...
Hello,
I think my Secondary Air Pump is knackered or a pipe to it is split on my LC as it sounds rather like an oil burner on start up.
Does anyone know where I can find it in the engine bay or better still a photo?
Cheers,
Joel

On a cold start the secondary air pump doesnt seem to run (used to sound like a hoover for 30 secs or so) but instead there is what i can only describe as a cackling noise. This noise stops once...
Well some of you know I had my car on VAG-COM after my diagnostic light appeared and I got an error but I couldnt quite remember the exact wording. Well my own interface from Ross-Tech arrived today (took 48 hours from USA) got it all installed and plugged it into the computer and the full code...
Im getting my car fixed on tuesday, apparently the secondary air pump is broke. Whats that actually do? They need the car for half a day, does that sound like some major work to just replace a part? Im just wondering if i could be damaging my car more by driving around in it before its fixed...
