When driving home this evening when pressing the brake pedal to slow down i noticed that the signs on side behind were not lighting up either, i know they normally do.
So when i got home got the gf to see if they worked, all worked but ONLY when i press the pedal to the...
my clutch has been playing up and eventually died yesterday i took it to a mechanic n he said it was my pedal box so we followed the cable through its sheerd through the bulk head leaving a 2 cm split and rippd a bracket completely off the back off the box. its the 1.4 se.... should i keep it...
At the moment i have my clutch position switch out but i cant get it to stay in because theres so much pressure in the pedal it just forces it straight out when i release the clutch
can a worn clutch cause this??
it is slipping etc and being changed tomorrow
also my clutch pedal sits...
Half way to work, and pulling away from roundabout, pedal suddenly very stiff to press. Thought the mat must have gone behind or something. Nothing obvious. Didn't seem as bad on the way home, but still not right. Never happened before. FR TDI 32k miles (all mine !)

got the pedal box out and a new one in in what i think is a very good 3 hours :D
as a note for other people doing it, you dont need to remove the steering column, and therefore dont need to fight the shear bolts...
but... i have the whole lot in and working, tho i have the following...
This is an intermittent problem with my cupra, the clutch pedal doesnt always come all the way back to the "stop", sometimes it will site about an inch or so too low as if there isnt enough pressure to push itself back to the top.
Is the pedal sprung loaded or is it pressured into coming back...

and yes the plastic clip has broken
the question i need answering is
the garage have said that the reason for the breaking is that the clutch is heavy ??
and i need a new clutch

does n e one else find with the 1.4 16v mk2 arosas that there is a delay form when you push the accelerator to the revs rising??? of is mine broke? lol its only a bit of one like but i thought as it was electric it would be instant?:cartman:
Ive already searched but theres nothing on my specific question.
The bolt holding my pedal box together has sheered so Im in the process of changing the pedal box.
Is there ANY way at all to get the pedal box out without disconnecting/removing the steering column/rack??

i have a 53 plate 1.4 16v sport and was wandering if it was an arosa thing or not,,, when you press the accelerator pedal theres the first half inch of pedal that doesnt do anything?? like you caN REST YOUr foot on it and it wont raise the revs?.... unlike my old polo which is cable not...
i have a problem my cluth pedal can move side to side a bit has any one had this problem and know what it might be and how tfix it, its moves a little ..

Does anybody know if you can adjust the break and accelerator pedals so that they are more at the same height?
I was driving a new style Honda Civic (i dont like it!!) and i did notice that the pedals were much more about the same height which made heel-toe breaking/gear changes much better...
I have recently replaced the master cylinder on my Leon due to it failing on me.
The problem is that the car now revs high during energetic gear changes. I have traced it to the adjustment of the clutch pedal swith as I found out that they are adjustable (via dealer) but still can't get it...
