I got a letter from my seat garge the other day stating to me that my cupra is turning 6 years old and it will need a cam belt change, Yet its only just done 44k. What should i do, is it worth changing it?
My cars done 64k and its a 2001 model. I've been recommended to get the cam belt and tensioners changed. Is this recommended at this milage? If so, does it matter if i get it changed from a local mechanic. I'll get the kit from GSF website. Any places/sites you can recommend getting the kit from?
My Cupra is a 2001 with 36k miles....
I have read in the service book and it states that the cam belt should be inspected at 60k and changed at 120k??? Or is it changed at 60k and again at 120k??
As my car is 5yrs old but does not have 60k miles on it where do I stand as the service book...
as per the title has the 1.4 8v engine got a cam chain or cambelt? I know the 16v has a belt, but I am sure I read somewhere that the 8v has a chain that doesnt need any maintenance or changing.
