My cars been spluttering at idle,revs drop to around 500 then jump back up to normal,sounds like it's about to stall. But once moving it drives fine. It's when the cars heated up, not when on the choke. Any ideas what the problem is? I have vagcom,just not had a chance to scan yet.

as i was looking at my engine i took off the cover i discovered my intake manifold is plastic! and it goes right over the engine ( which gets very hot) and that the manifold is really long but i can only find info on turbo manifolds any advice
