2 New Front Tyres - £260
20k Service - £155
Brake Fluid Change - £40
New Front Brembo Pads - £175

I realise I could have shaved £100 or so off this, but I can;t be arsed to order tyres off the internet and not be there when they are delivered etc, have to go and pick them up from a distribtution centre miles away then have to arrange getting them fitted. Life's too short lol

Not always like that, but i see your point. I take it those proces etc include fitting etc?

Maybe get the parts from darren or dave in the parts area on here? Much cheaper!

Prices are fitted...with VAT etc. Had to get the brakes done at SEAT as they told me they were down to 'dangerous' at the 20k service. I don't take any risks when it comes to brakes and tyres.

Work it out with the cost of petrol and insurance as well.

I did and it came to about 5.5K in the last 12 months! (mods / tyres / brakes / petrol) Suddenly that Evo I'm thinking about getting doesn't seem so expensive.

Well I only pay £500 a year for Insurance and £35 a week petrol. Not quite as much as you I wager. Evo's need servicing every 6000 miles, do about 20 mpg and are group 20 insurance. 5.5k in an LCR = 8k in an Evo. lol

ur brake fluid should've been changed as part of the 20k IIRC
ive just paid for mine to be done and it was 27 incl vat and labour
pads, shop about
your first service looks a little sharp as well

unfortunately no car is cheap to maintain these days unless you are mechanic yourself, in that case you cut every corner known to man
lol

Yeah, to be fair I have done 16K miles in the last 12 months so if I did get an Evo I'd need a second car as well (btw: servicing on an Evo is every 4.5k miles!)

i just put 2 new front discs and pads on the front of my LCR, total cost - £160 Inc VAT :p :D

Where did you get that done? Pukka Brembo kit? Wish I had the skills to do this type of thing myself or had a mate who could fit them, but I / most people dont. Like I said, I wouldnt take shortcuts with brakes / tyres . Most important bits of a car I reckon.

Every service I've had done I've rang around the local garages ( North East Garages / Alexander Bridge / Patterson Seat ) and gone with the cheapest. I can't be arsed to drive 40 miles out of my way to save £20 to be honest.
