Locking the car??

I have indeed done a search but the thread was confusing where some people claim 1 press and some claiming 2?

I was told 2 presses by the previous owner for alarm+ deadlocks, however some people on here have been saying its just 1.

Obviously i want to arm my car correctly, but what is it?

1 or 2?

You can press it twice to lock, and then deadlocks are activated - with the alarm still active.

The best way of seeing if your alarm is still active is if the red LED by the door pin/where the door pin should be, is still flashing ;)

in leons the locking is reversed. One press on the remote locks the car and arms the dealocks. If you lock with two presses you disable the deadlocks.

Simple test sit in the car and try it. I thought it was the other way 1 press (no deadlocks) 2 presses (with deadlocks) same as in my Focus but nope so in fact I spent 6 months leaving my car in some weird places with deadlocks off.

The alarm is active with 1 or 2 presses, but deadlocks will deactive with second press and if you open the door from inside the alarm will go off. I tried it this morning if it doesnt get your settings checked using vag.com

Not too far away
On my last 2 leons
Pressing once does the alarm and deadlocks...
Pressing twice doesnt do ultrasonics (possibly the rest of the alarm too not sure) and disengages the deadlocks...

I use the latter quite a lot when leaving people in the car so that they can get out if need be :)

Exactly 2 years ago to this day you have brought this thread back from lol.:) Look at the date of the last post:)

I think its to do with if you were to lock someone in the car to allow them to get out, although i thought 2 attempts at the door handle would do that

You think thats bad, I'm on my second leon, had them for nearly 4 years now and I've always pressed it twice. Thought the second clunk was the deadlocks kicking in and not disarming!!!
