hello every one, seeing as a few of you wanted to know how i refurbed my steering wheel i thought id show you my secrets :D
this was the state i bought my wheel in

right here is what you need to the job.
auto glym leather cleaner
auto glym leather care cream
cherry blossom readywax (from co op)
washing powder
microfibre cloth
small artist paint brush
red acrylic paint (childrens paint)

first step

put a small amount of washing powder in a cup and add warm water.
now using you microfibre cloth dip the corner in the cup of solution and scrub the red stiching with the wet corner. keep repeating this until the stiching is bright red.

step two

spray the wheel with the auto glym leather cleaner. leave the wheel for 2 mins allowing the cleaner to bite it. then buff of with the microfibre cloth. make sure you do the whole wheel.

step 3

using the cherry blossom spread over the entire wheel but keeping away from the red stiching. allow a few mins to dry then buff off. i did this 3 times in total.

by this time the wheel should be looking good, but if your like me you will want it to stay this way.

step 4

now for the protection, using small amount of the auto glym leather care cream, polish it into the wheel, allow to dry and then buff off, again i did this a few times. avoid the strip at the top of the wheel.

now your wheel should look like this

step 5

water down some bright red acrylic paint. great paint to use as it stays flexable and soaks into the leather.
paint the strip at the top of the wheel and allow to dry. i did 5 coats.
after the last coat is fully dry, apply some more leather care cream over the top of the red strip

now your finished and your wheel should look like this

this is how mine looked after i refitted the wheel

i must say i was over the moon when i did mine and even today it still looks just as good.

i hope someone finds this helpful

sam

ps admins can you make this a sticky please :D
