Grinding noise. Please Help

After abit of help,
I have just noticed a grinding noise on the front offside wheel when i have it on full lock whilst reversing, sounds strange but i can kind of feel it grinding aswell. I was thinking the brake pads were low and grinding, what are your thoughts??
Goes it for an MOT and service in a couple of weeks but worried it won't last that long.

Reversing, the pads may shift in the caliper and catch on the lip - the wheels spend a lot more time going forwards than they do backwards. If you put your hand on the edge of the disc ( not after use ...... ) and see if there is a noticeable lip there.

Have just been outside and had a quick look, on the outside pad there is a big lip so i would assume the same for the inside aswell, will get the wheel off asap and have a feel look inside aswell.
Is this just a case of getting that lip removed with a grinder etc??

That's what i've done on other cars when the lip got too big ..... how long have you had the discs on there for? I just used a hammer to gently tap the rust lip off - although on mine the lip was on the discs and not the pads. Are you saying that the pad is actually overhanging the edge of the disc?

Not sure how long they have been on there, i have owned the car for just under a year and have never changed either the dics or the pads and i have done about 7500 miles in her.
The lips on the outside is about 3/4mm though.

That's a lot of lip - don't suppose you can get pictures of it? My discs don't last much more than 10k and DS2500 pads about the same ....... i'd be thinking about new discs and pads to be on the safe side bearing in mind you don't know how much stick they got from the previous owner?

I would imagine with a big lip on the discs that they are probably below the recommended min thickness, so a new set of discs & pads may be in order.

I presume you've had a check around the wheel on full lock to ensure no arch trims or anything are catching

Have given badge a shout, and he has sorted me out a price for EBC discs and DS2500 pads, so i think i'll be going though him as others on here have used his services with good responces and recomendations.
I will have the CV boots checked when i have the discs and fitted.
If i'm around then i'm make my way over to AMD, it'll be my first meet though, so go easy on me. hehe

Did you have a feel around the wheel on full lock and check for any loose trims or anything?

Another thing you could do is jack the front up and compare the 2 wheels, try and pin point the noise.
Your discs are quite worn but your pads are good and personally i'd be waiting til the pads had worn out as the discs aren't terminal.
They may well be your noise but they also might not.
Does it make any difference if you lightly apply the brake when the noise is happening?

Genuine Brembo's for £82 each ;) and for £50 you can have them grooved with almos any pattern you want, These are what I'm going for

Badger can provide EBC discs (plain) and DS2500 pads for £212.54 + VAT and postage, was thinking of going for these. Anyway else have this set up and are they value for money then? Or should i go for the Brembos as above??
Any thoughts?

I have heard some cases of the EBC's warping although there are a few people on here that have had no problem's. Personally I'm going with the Brembo's with grooves and DS2500 pads
