Faulty Alarm

We've had some probs with the alarm going off for no reasons.

The car went into SEAT at Chadderton, Oldham yest to be investigated. We couldnt even lock the car, as even when we de-activated the alarm it still went off!!

They sourced the problem to a fualty horn letting water in and shorting the system. Car should be ready today. David Cooke's have been superb throughout.

Mrs even commented on how friendly everyone is and so willing to help.

Thats interesting, my horn sounded "muffled" the other day when I was using it. Wonder if water is getting into mine too.....?

Funnily eonough (or not, as my neighbours now think!) our XL alarm started wailing away in the early hours this morning - it even managed to go off as I was driving it to the stealers for them to investiagte.

Dropped the car off them to have a look at and 10mins later the technician said the horn was faulty, they'll order the replacement but what with it being a bank holiday it'll be tuesday before they can fit it - not ideal, but not totally unexpected. Apparently, disabling the alarm means the doors can't be locked, so they recommended that I just leave it parked on our drive until the part arrives!

Given the neighbours are a bit miffed at having listened to it for three hours this morning, another three days would probably have them wanting to kill me, so it's now doing its nut outside the stealers showroom - it was almost worth the hassle just to see one of the sales guys showing a couple around the showroom model whilst doing his best to ignore our version singing its lung out just 10 metres away :D

I'm betting it'll fairly quickly be moved to the arse-end of the back lot as soon as the franchise manager gets fed up listening to it!

hey ho...

I have just been to the dealer today, the alarm has been triggering at all hours of the day randomly. unable to lock it with the remote key and the lights stayed on interiorly. Dealer had a look and said it was a faulty ECU on the drivers door which is due to be replaced in 10 days time. will keep you posted.

I had a similar issue last year. The ECU in the drivers door was fitted 4 times before the dealer discovered that it was the lock that was faulty. Both me and my neighbours weren't pleased about this.
