AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH im gonna go mental! [:@]

Is there detailed info on how to remove them off the new leon?

Done a search, but the thread was like a year old! From what i gather on the thread, you need to remove the door locking mechanism and the lock barrel? Is this right?

Ive already stabbed myself in the cheek with a screwdriver and broken a few clips on the card, any help will be fantastic!

Pics would be even better!

Its cool, i managed it! :funk:

I had it off the door all the way round, but there was what seemed to be 2 bolts holding it in the middle, they seemed to be behind the fabric part of the dorr card (which i thought wasnt removable!) but low and behold, it is removable, and guess what, there were 2 bolts there, it then came off easy as feck!

My wing mirror was loose and i needed to tighten it, all that hassle and it just required a nip up!

So for future reference, and future searches heres how you do it!...(my car is a 55 plate 1.9TDi stylance BTW)

There are 6 T27 torx bolts holding the card on, (2 along the bottom of the card, 1 behind the speaker cover, 1 behind the long thin trim that unclips at the grab handle and 2 behind the fabric part of the door card, this unclips also.

The rest of the door card, basically is clipped on with kind of hook clips, and requires to be lifted and pulled out at the same time. Once its off, youll have to unplug all the electrics, unhook the door handle rod, etc etc.

Hope this helps and hopefully the man above can show some pics of the offending article for people!!

For full removal there is a lot more to it than that.

The lock needs to be removed, which requires the outer handle to be removed to release a cable, then remove all the screws and trim you mentioned

But don't fully remove the two bottom screws under the panel, just loosen them!

Doing it this way means the whole panel lock mechanism and winder mechanism are lifted out of the door as a complete unit, meaning there is no need to disconnect any wiring. And meaning you don't break the white plastic lug holing the lock mechanism onto the door panel ;)

This is obviously the VERY chopped down version of the removal instructions

Oh right, well i didnt need to fully remove it, just enuf so i could get in with ma ratchet to tighten the wing mirror!

It sounds crazy, having to remove all the locks and handles etc just to get a door card off, then the winder mechanism comes with it too!

My impreza door cards are held on with 1 screw and then just clipped in all the way round, 2 secs to remove!:p Thats the way it should be!

It makes construction of the car on the production line much faster having all the parts arrive in moduclar form.

When a car is being designed, all they are concidering is how to speed up production, they don't even concider the aftermarket, that's for other people to worry about

cos it was meant to be a straight forward job, and it was straight forward tightening a 14mm nut.

The **** thing was, i thought the door card wouldve been easy to remove, it wasnt til it was half off, i realised it wasnt!

If i knew the hassle it was gonna be, i wouldve put it in.
