Removing polish.

Hi, I have bits of polish on the black bits around my car (Rubber seals, side skirts, splitter, front grill etc..) Tried all the cleaning stuff i can think of but can't seem to shift it. Any ideas

Smooth peanut butter.

Or there's a product called Wax Blaster, but I found it only works properly on really fresh marks.

Yup. Small amount on a cloth, wipe it in, leave it a couple of minutes and wipe off.

Its the oil in the peanut butter that dissolves the dried polish. Linseed oil on a cloth should do the same thing.

Besides, that just covers it up for a while, its not removing it.

what will back to black do then in the long run if it contains silicones? i use it fairly regularly on my skirts and stuff to keep them looking newish... but if its not good then ill stop

I rate the Megs trim detailer on all my black plastic trim..

Goes on as a white cream and wipes off leaving the trim looking really good.

Not sure if this stuff is frowned upon by the serious detailers, hopefully someone will be along to let me know.

It won't harm your black plastics (although it will tend to give them a slightly unpleasant, glossy, sticky finish).

But if you get any on your paint (and I mean any at all, even if you think you've wiped it off properly afterwards) then nothing else will bond with the paint, so sealants and waxes won't do their job properly.
