Haven't been on here for a while now, been in and out of love with the car recently and even thought about finding a different car. However being at uni i don't have much chance of that happening.

No big updates really, joined the 100k club!

Which then meant i could give her a well deserved service, had been a while since I last used my babies now im at uni.

Decide to wrap the rear lenses which i kept for a while, but off the car for now.

Then recently I fitted 5000k HID's.

Also fitted wind deflectors but don't have pics yet.

STILL plan on getting coilovers at some point! But not sure how long it'll take me.

Cheers, Ell.

So my last post was over a year ago, good progress ay? ;)

Basically this last year I fell outta love with my car and considered selling for a golf mk5 or a3.

Had a couple little issues with the car and it failed its MOT.

BUT NOW IVE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH IT AGAIN! So I'm happy!

Anyway, no changes or pictures but I have come up with a realistic mod list. Now I plan on keeping the car I will try and get most of them done but take my time, mainly due to being a student and funding.

To do:

Coilovers: I know I've been saying this all the time. But it WILL happen!

Wheel swap/ refurb/ colour change: I fancy a bit of a change wheel wise, looking at swapping or a possible refurb and colour change.

Does anyone know if you can chrome alloy wheels?

Paint rub strips all round: Cheap little mod to do.

Mufflectromy: How do you spell it? Definitely keen for this, looks a simple mod to do too.

LED sidelights: Something little that needs doing.

iPad holder in dash vent: Got an iPad for Xmas, and I have a spare dash vent :)

Rear bumper: either cut a nice hole for the new exhaust or replace with a Cupra one, depending on price.

Front bumper: Hopefully find a decent standard second hand bumper and look at smoothing rub strips and custom honeycomb grill job.

That's the plan for now anyway. Sorry there are no pics and it's a boring post :p just thought I'd update this and let you know I'm back.

What do you guys think?

So this weekend i thought i'd do my muffllerectomy?

So, got the car in the air and got the angle grinder out and cut off the backbox.

Rather than weld the pipe on, thought i'd clamp it in case i wanted to put the backbox back on. Also I went for a curved pipe as i didn't have a tip for the end of the pipe and didn't want the fuss of cutting out the bumper.

So found some pipe and a clamp:

Test fitted the pipe and it lined up with the previous rubber mount. So i welded a bolt on to the end of the clamp bolt so it could be mounted:

So it would look like this:

The chopped the pipe down:

Then mounted:

And a video of how it sounds (phone makes it sound worse tbh):

Cheers :)

Be brave mate, cut the bumper extended the pipe and stick a nice tip on it, very good work thou mate, I'm seriously debating this on my pd150. Anyone know what size pipe I need and any links on yummy tips :):)

Yeh thought about it but had a bit of time and fancied getting it done. Yeh do it, Im driving around with my window open a lot now just listening to the noise :) it's a 2.5" pipe youll need, i went a bit bigger to clamp it on. Ebay is probably the best bet for tips.

either cut bumper or pick up a cheap cupra one second hand !!

Yeh i was waiting to get a cheap pre-facelift bumper and smooth the rub strips as well while i was at it. I kinda like the look with no exhaust tbh.

They're Lenso BBS Reps, 17x7.5 and 17x8.5

Front's have about 3mm tread but the rears have plenty, a good 6mm+, nice bit of stretch too.

All for £250 too!

Waiting for spigot rings before i can fit them :)

NO WAY 250 QUID FOR THAT!

Sorry for caps, its just my excitement. They are sweet mate. Very unique. For that price I would buy them any time. Round my area, shape like this goes easy 300-400 quid.

Yeh buddy!

Saw them on a FB page, matey wanted £350 for them but had no interest, so i offered him £280 then when i arrived 1 of the tyres was a bit lower than he said so got him down to £250 in the end.

Only thing is he said they were 5x112 but turns out they're 5x110.

So i already bought the 5x100 - 5x112 adaptors (£70 another bargain!) so i can use them with wobble bolts to fit them hopefully.

UPDATE

My pressed plates arrived:

Not sure how happy i am with them, seem a bit rough around the edges but still are legal with all the text on etc.

Will try and get them on tomorrow and get a pic.
