Not sure what you mean, the cables have the connector plugs so I can just pop the lights in and out like the the OE ones if I need to
What I mean is that if you wire cables under the seat like the rest of the cables then you will be not able to remove seat from the car, unless you have additional connector under the seat (see red circle). AliExpress kits for rear lights are know for not having this additional connector. If the cable just lies under the seat and is not attached to it then there should be no issues and you can forget about that :)

I see what you mean now, I've used velcro straps to keep the cables tidy under the seat, and it's easy enough to pop the light out and drop the cable down.

I just gave the passenger seat a bit of a spruce up, it's first time since I got the car last June.

I sprayed the seat with upholstery cleaner and used a brush attachment on my drill and gave it a good going over! Then used the Bissell spot clean pro for the first time, I only put clean water in it as I wanted it to try and remove as much of the cleaner as possible.

It looks pretty good, but they always do when they're still damp, hopefully it'll still look good when it's dry😅

Do you mind posting the link to the aliexpress kit?
I got these rgb lights as well, they're a budget option and I'm sure there are better solutions, but they work fine, once they're in you set one how you want it and the others will match automatically so you're not farting about changing settings on multiple lights.

They're fairly bright, they don't distract me, but you might need to cover the front footwell ones to reduce the output a bit if it's too much.

I don't have the FR seats, but the pattern is similar to the SE cloth seats and the pattern is so bad for showing water stains. I have never spilt anything on my drivers seat and yet it has a stain. Like you said the stain disappears when wet and then reappears few hours/days later. Hopefully your deep clean yields results

Yeah fingers crossed!
Well I gave it a good going over with the cleaning solution and drill brush then rinse and dried with the Bissell, not much more I can do😄

Went down a deep Google hole last week after finding "Pikey R600" and then MQB Air intake mod:

So bought one of these blanking plates, which, well, blanks off the hole on the driver's side of the air intake which just goes straight through to the engine:

It was a perfect fit and ripped into place solidly; I've not fitted the screws yet, as it's holding in place tightly.

The theory being that it forces air straight into the airbox, rather than letting it flow over the engine. Haven't had a chance to really try it yet, but will report back if it makes any difference.

Could you answer why the hole is there in the first place? I'm also still contemplating to block it off, but I haven't done the research yet why the hole exists in the first place.

My best guess is that it cools the turbo (and or other components in that area?) which sits in the back of the engine compartment on that side of the hole.

Hi Buddy,

I found loads of posts and theories on why it’s open, and cooling the engine bay was one of them.

I’m going to keep an eye on oil temperature over the next few weeks, and see if it’s increased.

As the blanking plate is for tropical countries (the post I linked is really detailed), I can’t believe it’s going to affect engine bay temps, but will prevent warm air from being sucked into the airbox from the engine bay.

@WozzaB exactly! We had that same gripe with the Bissell. We also found another use for it haha. End of last year, our basement was flooded and the Bissell saved us a lot of time with removing the water :ROFLMAO:

@Cubbington interesting! I think I will probably to the mod as well. Do you know how much the parts cost in total? I already opened up the right side

From memory the R600 also has a closed system to enable as much air as possible into the filter / turbo as does my Revo closed system so I would not expect large increase in engine bay temps. If you go for open cone filter that is not enclosed then you will increase heat soak into the air flow (imo) but also get increased noise feedback

Hi Buddy,

I can tell you exactly what they cost, please see links below (funnily enough, the blanking plate was cheaper form Progressive's eBay store than they're own store!).

Hope that helps!

You're correct (from the research I've done) and funnily enough, I was going to ask your opinion regarding intakes, inlet hoses and elbows, etc. as I read quite a few posts about these upgrades being done and people experiencing low-to-mid torque loss, but then the benefits being achieved in the high rev range, until they had their cars re-mapped.

If I were to play about with this, I wouldn't want any downgrade in performance on normal driving.
