I'm going to get the oil changed soon on my 1.4tsi, and just want to double check I'm getting the right stuff.

The service history shows it's had Shell Helix longlife oil, it's been changed every 12 months and covered around 6-7k between changes, so it's not been done on the longlife interval.

I'm planning on continuing the 12 month changes, I'll do similar mileage per year as well, 6-7k, so I don't need longlife oil if I'm reading the official blurb correctly.

I was going to use this stuff, I presume this would be OK along with a Mann filter?

That would be fine - it's 504/507 approved - which is a long life spec by the way!
For the 1.4 504 is the long life spec, 502 is time/distance spec. 504 is the better spec oil so I would just stick with any oil "approved to" this spec (not equivalent or recommended for).

Ah OK, cheers.
I thought 508 was the long life spec and 504 could be used but might affect emissions.

Anyway I'll go with Shell stuff above 👍🏼

508 is the latest spec 0w20 oil, vs 0w30/5w30 504. Both classed as long life by VAG.
Loads of internet discussions on 508 vs 504 vs 502.
I would just use the 504 approved oil - 504 is a high spec so the oil had to be decent to get approval.
If you have a newer engine you can use either 508 or 504 - but only the 504 if you have an older engine - something around 2018 was the switch - but doubt you could measure any MPG improvements in the real world of 508, and 508 will be more expensive.

Thanks for the info.
It's a 67 plate, I'll go with the Shell 504👍🏼
