Model Year 24/25 Adding Blind Spot Detection to 2025 Cupra Formentor: Is it Possible?

"Hello, I recently purchased a 2024 Cupra Formentor 1.5 eTSI. However, my vehicle does not come with the blind spot monitoring feature or the 360-degree camera. Is it possible to add these features to my car later on?

After doing some research, I was told that the door trim would need to be replaced, as the blind spot LED cannot be integrated into it later on. This increases the cost. Is it possible to integrate the LED into the door trim, or can the necessary parts be found for this? Is this something that's feasible?

Since the other parts are commonly used, I believe I can easily source them. What do you think?

I'm a bit unsure about adding the 360-degree camera later, as it requires a lot of parts. Has anyone done this before?

... cars then why did we ever stop riding horses?

Blind spot monitoring is a very useful feature which increases safety.

It is quite a useful feature IMHO. My current car has it - the first car I’ve ever owned with blind spot monitoring. It was part of the car’s standard spec but if it’d been an extra cost option I’d probably not have bothered having it.

The conversion effort is relatively low. Removing the bumper, installing the bracket and control unit and laying the wiring harness in the interior takes about 1 hour. Laying the wiring harness neatly in the interior up to the door coupling points takes about 1.5 hours. Removing the door panels, laying everything neatly and connecting everything else takes 3 hours. So with retrofitting experience it takes 4-5 hours of work. The problem is more expensive coding, 3c control units with component protection, etc.

I didnt think the new Formentor had the 360 degree camera on it? My S3 has it and its invalueable when parking parallel to kerbs!

To clarify - I mean cameras in the wing mirrors and also the front grill that you can select independently, not the 360 image from above the car...
