Seat Leon instrument panel

I was wondering if anyone can help. I have to change the instrument panel due to a dodge oil warning light.
I bought a new (used) one from a similar model and now all the lights and LEDs are flashing all over the place. The car wouldn't start as I presume it's something to do with the immobilizer, so I swapped the old ones back I and now I get the same thing with the lights flashing and the warning siren going off. Any ideas?

You've fu*ked it, what are you playing out swapping bits around like that?

Unplug the battery for a couple of hours and hope it resets. Otherwise you'll need a specialist with the right equipment to unpick the mess you've made.

Yeah if you knew what problems I have had you would've done the same.

I have a mate who has a vagcom kit, but he doesn't know how to use it.

If the immobiliser is ****** up I'm not sure if VCDS can fix it.

You might find it's just the clocks and associated modules not being coded correctly and everything can be put straight easily enough.

If all you did was plug another cluster in, it shouldn't have done any damage, probably just set a lot of fault codes. Just return it to how it was and use VCDS to erase all fault codes. If that doesn't work then post a scan from VCDS of what fault codes come back.

As you found out the cluster contains the immo, and the ECU and cluster need to be matched. AFAIK that isn't something you can do with VCDS unless the cluster is brand new and unprogrammed.

Caution; I have converted several PQ speedometers. As soon as the ignition is activated, you're in trouble with the new, foreign speedometer. The chassis number in the ABS and speedometer no longer match and the ABS throws away all its data. In extreme situations, the ABS coding is set to 0. Of course, you can reinstall the original one, then the immobilizer will be activated, but the ABS will still have no basic settings, etc. If you want to use the new speedometer, you must convert it directly in the workshop; the immobilizer can only be programmed online using VW's servers. It can of course be done without it, but only with EEPROM tools, etc. You must have all the keys with you.

jnow you don't have it easy. don't you have a backup of the past? an auto scan? because the ABS coding partly contains the equipment as well as the chassis number etc. otherwise please tell me your chassis number

Nah man I don't have a back up 😞
The car is stuck at the dealership now awaiting an MOT, which they can't do because of the warnings...
1K0 907 379 CD is my VAG number.
Thanks for your help!
