This will take 30 seconds of your time, max, and I'd really appreciate it just to see if this is standard or just my car...

Can you guys please have a look on your radio, and see if the left/right buttons on the steering wheel controls above the volume scroller actually changes your SIX PRESET radio stations that you've stored? Mine doesn't, just alphabetically/systematically just flicks round the enormous DAB list sitting in the background, and that's the factory setting, so fundamentally useless!

Both manuals don't help, and Seat don't seem to know so I'm hoping someone here has one that does what it realistically should do, just to confirm it's possible and not just a rubbish system function!

(apologies to the mods and all, it's a bit of a thread copy, but I think I worded the title wrong to garner interest before and sort of got nowhere!)

why don't you read your car's manual?

That is the official Manual from the Seat Homepage
Yeah, same as the one i said I read... But you've put the German version on for some reason.

Admire you thinking I'm multilingual, but unfortunately not. 😂

The English version doesn't help either, but I'm guessing you're ironic and not being a bit of a div by posting a pic of the thing I said I already read which didn't help. 👍

I mean... I presume you're not being serious with that initial post?! 😂

It's written there in black and white, the next station frequency is being searched for!!! I'm not kidding you.
Yeah, black and white... And German. 😄

If that's all it does, this is the very first post-2000 car I've ever seen that chooses to function that way. Makes no sense, hence the question if anyone else's does it properly... Like every other model in the world. 😊

To you have No translator On the PC/Smartphone/Tablet or whatever?

of course it's normal. 3 Seat Leon 5Fs, a Seat Ateca, an Octavia 3 before facelift, an Octavia 3 facelift, should I keep listing?

Orrrrr you could've just posted the English version, or alternately had a giggle at your obvious mistake instead of going full tilt and we could all smile, happily? 😄 Bet you're a bundle of fun at a party.

Crack on if that floats your boat flower. I've Had a ton of post 2000 cars too, for both work and home, quite a few vag group ones too, and not one of them has done this, so there you go. 🤷

So... moving on from this passive aggressive bit of the thread, has anyone managed to change it to the other, more helpful way of switching presets that seems prevalent in other cars?

You can Not Change the function of the Button.
Sorry, it is possible, when you write a New Firmware in the lin Controller of the Buttons.

sorry, but if you say that it doesn't work, it says so in the instructions, apparently you can't use Google to download the English instructions for your vehicle yourself. But I did it for you. 🤦
