Ateca infotainment system reliability

Hi,

I read there were quite a few problems with pre-facelift Cupra Formentor infotainment (unresponsiveness, glitches, etc.).

I wonder, is this infotainment the same Mib3 that comes with facelifted (post-2020) Seat Atecas? Did Ateca users report the same issues or was it prevalent in Formentors only?

When MIB3 1st appeared on VAG platforms for MY2021 onwards it had more bugs than a well established flea farm, reflecting the woes of VAG's internal software company, Cariad, at that time.

These days it is fully sorted, stable and reliable - in fact within the last couple of weeks many owners of Ateca have received the 0883 update as an OTA release.

Think you'll also find that the Formentor runs on a different train xxxx rather than yyy. So any issues with that don't necessarily carry over to the Ateca. Formentor MQB Evo platform, Ateca the original MQB platform. So the Ateca facelifted
didn't get the double does of issues as the Formentor.

Today I test-drove a mid-24 FR and found the infotainment screen responsiveness a bit laggy. Also, sometimes it wouldn't immediately recognize my tap in certain areas of the screen...

Probably the screen. In freezing cold mine does react differently but isn't often freezing here. I had read reports of that.

Different hardware, different software

The Ateca's system was lucky enough to get its own issues, however these were all fixed with software updates - as were the issues with the Formentors system

Indeed it's own hardware. Ideally you do need to keep the connect services contract(s) running and the connect services set up correctly. That one still remains a bug in some quarters.
