ABS Electrical Fault

My 2009 Ibiza SE flagged up an ABS fault and the pump is constantly running looking for help for the possible solution.

The picture is showing power going through this wire without it being connected - the pump turns off if this wire is removed and the fuse thats usually the common issue is fine.

- Checked all fuses
- Replaced entire fuse box on battery just in case of corrosion.

Any help would be appreciated!

What's the fault code in the ABS unit?
This is the code it's showing up with on VCDS also tested the pump using it and the pump responds absolutely fine without any issues it's just constantly running with that cable attached.

That's a weird one. Think you need to get a wiring diagram and see how it's all wired up. Have you checked the plug going into the ABS controller and pump? MAybe there is some corrosion in there shorting something out?

I've checked it all out nothing looks damaged seen some posts saying to leave it unplugged a few hours and plug it back in, seen people saying replace the fuse anyway, check for damaged wires & biggest one is replace the ABS module which in this case the module seems to be responding as it should just doesn't really want to turn itself off.

So when you tested it with VCDS, it turns on and off OK? Bet when left to it's own thing it's constantly on? Just double checking i'm understanding correctly as that is what puzzles me.

In the screenshot it says '3 faults found', what were the other 2 codes?

A bit of a late reply.

When tested with VCDS the pump turns on pushes the pedal back against the foot and then stops but just keeps constantly buzzing, so it has a response from the controller perfectly fine and only has some kinda power issue giving it constant power to the pump motor.

Other 2 faults are:
- Fog Lights (Bulbs are out)
- ABS Sensor Rear Left (Just Replaced)

Update: Got a new ABS pump ordered from Ebay with same part number. Will post an update if fixed or not to help anyone with this issue as I've seen a few people asking this same question for this car, but nobody seems to have found a solution (Only some have an issue with the 40AMP fuse which is a simple fix) however all my fuses are fine.

Update: I bought a new ABS pump off ebay with the exact same part number & test fitted it by pulling the connector out from behind the brake lines and then plugged it into the new module while resting it inside the engine bay to see if it came back with any errors for the same issue.

The ABS system is working and just needs to be coded to the car, the pump no longer runs continuously & the handbrake warning light no longer flashes with 3 annoying beeps on start-up!

The final step is to code it to the car and fit the pump properly.

For anyone who comes across this thread, here are all your ABS issues:
- Corroded Fuse Box (On battery)
- 40AMP FUSE (On battery)
- Alternator Voltage Regulator
- ABS pump module has died (My situation)
- Air Stuck in the ABS pump (Bleed the pump using VCDS)

Get VCDS updated!

Bosch ABS controllers seem to lose their coding "very easily"- though not a problem for you as you can still read the code from/of your original one.
New module is coded, and it accepted the code also saved a backup of the original scan with the correct coding just in case I do every run into this situation, but for now everything working perfectly.
