Hi All.
My partner has just got a new job and her parents have given her a bit of money so we are looking at upgrading her car.
Shes currently driving around in a 2017 Ibiza that I bought brand new with 0 miles on it and has been flawless for our entire ownership.
I've had Ibizas / Leons my entire life and have enjoyed every single one of them.

Now I have two children......(Please Help us)
I have an Audi A6 C7 Avant (3.0 V6) and I absolutely love it but its made the other half want something a bit newer and she deserves it.
We are looking at this:

Ateca Xperience Lux 1.5 EcoTSI.
Now truthfully I was going to get her the FR but she doesn't like the Cloth/Half and Half seats so shes pretty settled on leather/faux leather seats.
Obviously this car has less than 7000 miles on it but anything I should be aware of? Common faults?
I was hoping to get the 18" wheels so we had a bit more sidewall, but what is the ride like on the 19s?

I was hoping once it was outside of its warranty period of getting it remapped, Has anyone had a remap on these 1.5 engines?
Can they handle it? Or is everything now built to just about manage the power they have.
150hp in a massive car like that is pretty weak and truthfully I was hoping to get the 2.0 Diesel but it looks like they stopped doing that model.

Its coming from the Seat Dealership network and these guys seem pretty decent, I have a VAG Specialist that will be taking car of the servicing and whatnot from this point onwards.

Any advice is welcome, no matter how technical or simple.
This has all been done in a big rush truthfully and normally I spend months working out what car 'I WANT' but this is for her so I'm finding it a little harder than usual!

I wouldn't get it remapped since it's on the DQ200 from memory so that's about the limit. If you increased the torque and the DSQ went you'd have warranty issues.

The 19" wheel ride fine on the 2.0TDI. You get use the the firm ride. Basically all Seats are suppose to have a firm ride. It comes with the turf.

The 150TSI did have some teething issues but probably ironed out now. People like 1.4 / 1.5 TSI since it closes down one of the cylinders... sound like an AI system now.

At launch back in 2016 the leather seats were the best on the Xcellence, some of the other models had very uncomfortable seats. Reckon the FR range is operated. Sold on the FR designation. You can always do a seat comparison. The Xperience Lux took over from the Xcellence so I'd say the seats will be better than the FR.

Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks for letting me know about the remap situation.
Its a shame they dont make cars like they used to where you had quite a bit of room to play with parts and what they could handle.

The Ibiza she has at the moment has a fairly firm ride and all Seats I've had all the way back to 2008 had fairly firm rides (Aside from the MK4 Ibiza Cupra, Which I'm still not convinced wasn't just steel bars instead of shocks)

I'm sure the ride will be fine, I'll find out on Friday.
I was told by my mechanic, Go with the 1.4 not the 1.5 but it would appear they dont make the 1.4 anymore so I'm not left with alot of options.

It looks incredibly well specced and truthfully its the first time she'll be driving an automatic. My partner is quite competent as a driver and I assume having me watching her like a hawk has probably helped somewhat but the way she treats a clutch is like shes kicking it to death. So I was hoping to get her into an automatic (DSG)

The added safety features like reversing sensors etc should be of great benefit!
