Yes I'm old enough to also remember dads old cars with wooden dash, and on his Morris it had wooden bits on the outside too. Did not know you could still get that effect on a modern car.
On memory lane... now this is the time when cars rotted out :ROFLMAO:. Woodworm must have been an issue and dry rot.

Yet Morgan still make cars with a wooden sub frame do they not, wonder if damp proofing is on the option list.

There are dozens of different pieces, all cut by hand and then sanded, massaged and joined into the right shape. The larger piece is then cut to shape and dipped in a treatment solution and hand sanded again.

Morgan’s research shows that the wooden frame makes its cars safer than conventional steel frames on impact tests.

Don't think I would like to be in a car with a wooden frame in a crash, whatever Morgan say. It must be outdated now and sounds like the carts that I ran down the hill back when I was a kid.

My first car was a 1986 Rover 213s with walnut trim in the dash. Took it out and wrapped it in sticky back plastic. Other than bentley and Rolls etc, i didn't realise any manufacturers still used wood either, looks nice though.
