2016 seat leon sportstower, fr 1.4 petrol. I want to update with the new version, via usb because I don't have an sdcard. The car does not have navigation! I am looking at several versions on the mibsolutiona page. I don't know which one works well and I won't have any problems. Any recommendation or someone who has the same car! Has anyone updated the same car and the same software model.? Which version to download? ?

Well you can't change your train so the bottom screen would lead you up the garden path and kill your unit if you did any of the 3*, 4* or 5* updates. Those updates are suppose to be only done in a Seat dealership so they don't do stupid things. People reading websites sites do if they don't read everything. If it started to read in a train jump update, your boot area gets deleted. It's an open the unit up and short pins out.

Basically how mib2 standard works is they had a train for every year of it's existence. The updates were on the train like 2* in your case. I'm not familiar with mib2s without navigation. Whether you can use 253T I pass.

There is a mib2 firmware thread with people that may better answer your question.

The main thing is you will kill a mib2 standard unit if you jump trains by using the wrong software. You can't jump to 516T just like that if you were on 253T seduced by all it had to offer. This is where @East Yorkshire Retrofits has rescued people in the past that killed there units.

I suspect there might not be much you can do with that unit except replace it.

Excuse my expression. This is just the display with frame. The main unit is in the glove compartment. Please do not modify it yourself if you have no idea. You will do more harm than good.

But you have to patch the navigation system. There is no navigation system from the factory, so you won't have it despite having the device.

I did the installation of the 0253t version with usb but I didn't see any change. Now I thought if I would change the screen and the central unit something would change. But since you are writing that this cannot bring any change, I will stay with the version I have. It means that it is an expense without result. So I will only use android auto or miror link for navigation. I am sending you a photo to see what happened with the 0253t system that I installed. It works ok but I will not make any attempt to install the new version so as not to destroy it.

Nothing changed. It is still the old version. The new version I wanted to install was interrupted and threw some errors. So I won't try anything else. It works ok now and it's fine like this without any new version!

Not compatible then. Saved you the trouble of messing up your unit.

There is this Ateca "experimental" thread. In the past going back a few years people bought Chinese Android substitute units. This is a more recent experiment. Pass on how good they are. DIY low cost solutions. Thought your ebay screen was pricy and that's not the unit.

That's @Paris takes of about here:

Think the unit came off ebay rather than that one if you read on. Depends whether you want a high value mib2 standard or something cheaper. But that solution you'd have to install yourself. More of a hobbyist project.

I used chinese from aliexpress in my old car opel astra 2014. I had problems with calls and microphone. also android auto was not working after a month. I think that they are not better than the original that the car has. It works well. When you hear and read that there is a new update, everyone wants to try it, but you never know that it could be destroyed. Today I ordered a MSXTTLY 2in1 android auto adapter, 2024 new model. I want not to use cable. I will continue to keep the original unit of the car and for everything I will use android auto. I believe it will be the best solution.

It appears old school changing the "radio and tape unit" in cars as you use to do ... now the infotainment system is an integrated element of the car. If it's broken then that's something different. The adaptor looks interesting for those that want to integrate their smartphone into a model that doesn't allow it....

I'll make do with trying to get 24h2 onto a laptop that doesn't want to know about it 🤣. Useless Microsoft testing. Making the development staff redundant. I seriously don't think you want a development update software cycle near a car. It's bad enough in the home. Current pet moan. Cars are a niche market in comparison. Fundamental floor of connect cars. Least your mib2 unit is outside of that.

I recommend exactly 2 adapters:
1) Android Auto Wireless
2) Motorola MA1

My experiences with this have only been positive, whether from myself (I always test everything I recommend myself) or from the feedback from people who have listened to my recommendations.
