I borrowed a family members OBD11 downloaded VAG app for
iPhone and paid for credits to turn off the daytime running lights as they drain the battery when parked up but it did not work !! On my seat Leon 2015 1.6tdi. I tried it twice and it said it was activated but no option came up on my head unit like it states it’s meant to give u!! There’s not a lot u can do on the mk3 Leon but that was meant to be one of them. Or do you have to upgrade the head unit and enable car play first ??

You are better off not using the micro payment apps which can be written by kids. Crowd sourced without QA and put out. The coding offered via taking out the annual license allows you to do proper coding, the other is hit and miss and may mess up the cars coding.

My Ateca 2017 will be like a Leon 2015 with a suppressed infotainment menu which controls the DLRs. I did enable that because I was coding on public roads and didn't want to sit with the DLRs on upsetting the neighbours on a side street where I parked and used their FON 🤣. Now got a drive and use my own WiFi.

Post that below. The coding will be the same. Post 11 on this:

There are other options on that one.

which is better in people’s experience the OBD11 the carista or VCDS? For activating extra functions on seat Leon mk3?? And which is best value for money ? Thanks
Ah.. glad you have named Carista... basically the Obdeleven market splits into two the micropayment app market which Carista belongs to. It's a black box you have no control on what it's doing so it can hash up the cars coding. So that's market one and why Obdeleven put the micropayment apps in it to cover people who wanted click and play solutions but not doing coding. Then the coding one which is VCDS and it's associates. That's what Obdeleven Pro which is the unlock license. That's now an annual payment but you can come out of it if you have all your coding done and don't need the pro license.

Obdeleven is more portable than VCDS so if on holiday, no laptop you can investigate any errors and clear them down that the car may generate. ABS one on my last two week trip. Came in useful.

Carista and Obdeleven app side are big on marketing so people get sold on these one click apps. There will be I reckon Black Friday deals... there always are so on the Obdeleven site I reckon you might be able to pick up the Pro license cheap. You can mix and match where you get your Obdeleven from. Amazon for speed and the Pro license key off their own website. Whatever is cheapest and deliveryfits in. I would not advise using one click apps. Stick to coding via the Obdeleven Pro or VCDS route.

If you look at the link I gave above it provides an overview of what you can do with the Pro. As said Atecas of that period and the Leon 3 has similar coding options. I lifted some from Leon 3, others from Ateca coding. It's the lights arrangement which will be different and Leon 3s never had panoramic roofs or motorised tailgates. At the time you had to look around for the specific model stuff.

Basically the crowd sourcing people that write the one click apps are trawling the boards to write the one click code. They may not have the car. Can't test. If Obdeleven doesn't QA correctly then you are running an untested app with no control. If you are doing coding yourself you just reverse what you have done. There is not a restore function... it's manual clicking. The secret is not to do too many changes and keep a cool head, screen shot the stages so you can work backwards if need be.

🤣🤣 yeh I have the same issue with the DLRs also they drain the battery I don’t know why they even designed them like that ? Seems like a design flaw to me personally because why would you need lights in the Bloody day time??
thanks for the advice brother and I didn’t code I just purchased credits and used the one click application to implement the change but had no luck so I tried again thinking maybe I did something wrong but had the same issue stated that’s it’s “been activated” or something along them
Lines and took my money but nothing happened. Checked the car menu on my head unit but there was no extra option for disabling DLRs and they are still working. I didn’t purchase the pro version as I was
Only Borrowing the dongle from family member. But will buy one in the sales. Also do you happen to know how to force a regen by any chance brother ? ?

I'll pass on regen I haven't done that. The car is happier enough on its own.
