Model Year 21/22 Tyres

I’m looking to get four new tyres on the Formentor. It has the 19” wheels and is 4Drive.

Front two need replacing as they’re down to about 3mm and starting to slip and the back two are losing pressure around puncture repairs, annoyingly they still have 4-5mm left.

The originals are Bridgestone Turanza T005. All of my past SEATs have had Bridgestones and I’ve never been monumentally impressed. They’ve worn pretty fast, although I do drive it like I stole it more often than not

So, what shoes are your Formentors wearing and would you recommend them?

Τhe Bridgestone Turanza T005 is a great tyre, mine are still performing at 60000 km, although Im looking for replacements.
If I was to change brand I would go with Continentals or Michelins. However I have just fitted Turanzas 6 to my MB w203 C Class Coupe,
and they also perform great although still early to have a solid opinion as most tyres when new perform well.

The Turanza T005 always gets good reviews for all the right reasons, I have just replaced two @ £160 fitted etc - what`s not to like about them, if I found them to be poor in some respect I wouldn`t have re -fitted the same.

There is no perfect tire, if there was one the other ones would not exist nor the companies that make them. Although subjectively there are in general some good and some not so good tires, its our individual needs and wants that are determining our choice. Even so, we are always inclined to make the wrong choice because the real test is in the real world and roads and not in the designated tracks by the tire makers.
Me, living in a warm climate and driving on mainly open roads and expressways the Turanza T005 has been excellent, for others, driving under different conditions , may well not be. However, although me being mostly a Michelin man, I believe this tire is up there with the best.
Have the same opinion with the Adrenalins that I fitted few years back to one of my cars, sadly not being produced anymore, which were way better in handling than my Sport Pilot 3 at the time, although not so good on the wear factor.

Pirelli self seal with lip, can't go wrong good in wet gets you out off trouble when nails bolts decide to attack your tyres. Been a life saver for me on numerous occasions

Potenza Sport offers the best rim protection followed by Goodyear assy 6, just a shame the T005 lacks this.

Don't go for the Potenza Sport if your worried about wear as the the trade off for more grip is more wear, doesn't bother me as I prefer feel and grip which Bridgestone offer over others.

Difficult decision depending on how many miles you've covered on your T005's, but to improve on millage over the T005 you may need to look towards Michelin's Primacy 4+ which should come close on grip levels..
