Unable to enable fold in power mirrors when the car is locked (Ibiza mk6 xcellence)

I have a 2024 UK-spec Ibiza mk6 in Xcellence trim. The car has power folding mirrors, and in the infotainment system settings there is an option to fold the mirrors in automatically when locking the car. However no matter what I try I can't get this option to enable. I just get an error whenever I try that says "The function is currently unavailable". I am able to fold in/out the mirrors using the knob on the drivers door so the folding action does work, I just cant seem to get this option to enable. Anybody else have this issue and/or know how I fix it?

try holding the lock button in on the key see if that folds them in when you lock the car, that's how it used to work on my old Leon. its Possible it just needs a software update if you're getting an error in the infotainment, but they do actually fold in off the switch you know they work ok.

Holding the lock button on the key does nothing. I assume they removed that feature and replaced it with the one I can't enable.

Do you have the knob on the driver side with the mirror icon? It should look something like this? If you take a picture and show us what that is currently set to, we might be able to help further.

That just happened to me. I changed my battery today, at a BOSH CAR SERVICE. When I got home, mirrors would not fold neither windows close. Then I noticed what José was talking about. Driver’s windows wouldn’t close automatically, like with the second level pull of the button. So I closed it, press and hold the button for 4/5 seconds. This restored the auto function and solved the other issues.

Just to clarify, my windows open and close and mirrors fold and unfold normally, so the issue is not mechanical. It's simply that I cannot enable the one setting that folds the mirrors when the car is locked.

Same here, no mechanical issues, just bits and bytes missing. Solved it with the procedure I mentioned above. It won’t hurt trying, even if your windows are operating flawlessly.

Could you post a video of the key and car headlights while trying the mirror folding function?

That being said, I spent almost 2 years (2017/2018) complaining to car’s dealership and SEAT Portugal, my mirrors would fold with key function but would not open automatically with the car unlocking. I had to make a bunch of videos reporting the issue and finally SEAT found some firmware update that solved it.

I did try the window button hold as you suggested, but unfortunately nothing happens and the function still cant be enabled. My issue seems to present differently to that mentioned in similar posts, in that in those cases the function can still be enabled/disabled in infotainment (where such an option exists), but just doesn't work. In my case I can't even enable the setting to fold the mirrors on lock, so it's kind of expected that they then won't, whether automatically or with the manual hold of the key fob.

Yeah, the message you receive was never presented to me. :/

So, the idea of the video was to check if the car “informs” you that the windows are closed with a second hazard lights flashing.

Like this: https://we.tl/t-RjAlF379C8

That was what made me think about the windows.
But if you’ve tried it and have no issues with your windows, it must be something else.

Sorry. :/

I have two ideas. The first is to force restart the multimedia system or reset the multimedia system to factory settings and test it. Otherwise, read out the error log.

Press and hold the radio power button until the system has restarted. Read the error log with a reputable diagnostic tester

Try this With the windows closed, pull the driver's window button all the way 3 times
