No idea what colour the USB is, but it's the original MIB1 glovebox USB port so I'm 99.9% sure it doesn't support Apple Carplay (given all the forum posts on the issue and requirement to change the USB port when going to MIB2 head units - something I ignored being on Android platform which works fine wired).
I am surprised even android auto worked with that if its the original ami port with a usb female dongle.

You need the harness and the new plug.

Interesting...I haven't sent mine back yet, I'll give that a try and see what happens!

Edit: No dice :( thanks for the suggestion though. I removed the bluetooth profile on my phone and from the car just to be sure but still getting the same.

What year is your car?

I will be sending this back in the next few days and I've ordered an AAwireless device which I've heard good things about...its just 4 times the price. Hopefully that works but if not another return process and I'll stick with it being wired
Oh, man, that sucks! Hopefully, the other one you've ordered works a treat!

My car is 2019.

So recieved my AAWireless device today.

Plugged in, updated the device via the app and everything kicked in and worked as expected! Result! albeit a more pricey one but sometimes that just the way things go.

Here is the product for anyone who may need it: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B71XC7VG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Working on a 2015 (65 plate) Cupra 280 with Mib2 (I think but don't quote me!) with s/w v0253 & single USB + Aux fitted in cubby of central console infront of gear stick.

Now I need to figure out a nice method of adding wireless charging. Tempted to try using a USB splitter but aprehensive as to not pull too much current through a single port so may just use the 12v under the armrest with a usb adapter and 3D printed wireless charging mount in the cupholder but may just stick with a wired backup should I need it.

Thanks for any input/advice in the thread.

Here's the end result for the wireless charger.

Although its not perfect, I'm pretty happy with it. It should be capable of 15w fast charging but my phone only supports 10w iirc but it fast charges my S10.

Some links for bought parts and attached images + STL file if anyone wants to print one.

Charger: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09QFQ3CW3?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
3M anti slip: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BKFT1MJD?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1
12v USB adapter: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07XM7YGQ5?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

You would also need a usb cable and then cut and splice it to feed it through the case to the charger. It's a clean way to get the cable the correct length but I think I'd find another solution if I needed to reprint it but the STL file is there should you want to do that.

I used heat set inserts and screws to connect the two printed parts but you could glue it instead I imagine.

Just thought I'd mention that I purchased this wireless Android auto adaptor from AliExpress for $28, and it is incredible. It actually connects quicker than using my phone wired, and everything works as if my phone was plugged in.

I've heard stories about some functions not working, such as factory mic when pressing the steering wheel mic button for example, but this one works 100%.

This is up there with one of the best mods I've done to my MK3 so thought I'd share it.

Link below, I'm not sponsored or anything, just appreciate a bargain and this will be significantly cheaper than buying the same thing from Amazon.

NOTE - there are 2 options, a larger box or a tiny USB stick. I went for the tiny USB stick and you can't even see it from the driver's seat, and it allows my phone to actually fit in the front cubby hole. I'll add a picture tomorrow when it's light.

Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out! US $26.84 30%OFF | New Upgrade Mini Wired to Wireless Android Auto Adapter for Wired Android Auto Car Smart Ai Box Bluetooth WiFi Auto connect Map
Didn't work for me , clarified with Seat Support . Car details; SEAT Leon Cupra 2017 (Mk3)

Ive got one of these too but although my phone sees it , if I try to connect to it ( BT) the phone just goes to the cars BT only.
Cant see any advantage in having it!
The instructions are pretty poor!
Anyone get it to work?

For Android Auto use only, the Motorola MA1 dongle is unbeatable. I've been using one for over 12 months with both aftermarket systems (including my Alpine Halo) and OEM (including my current Seat MIB2) and it's been by a huge margin the best dongle I've tried.

NONE of the others have come close in reliability, ease of use and build quality.

Just to make it crystal clear, the MA1 doesn't do Carplay at all, Android Auto only.

I use Android Auto Wireless. I also co-financed the project, I think it was on Kickstarter. now we have 2 modules in our 2 Seat Leon 5Fs with standard MIB2 navigation and it works without any problems. But yes, the Motorola dongle is also really good.

I'm sure your phone should be connecting to it via WiFi. I'll check mine.
