Model Year 21/22 Horn fault

Hi
My horn seems to have developed a fault. When the horn is activated it seams that only one of the horns is working and the tone is a lot quieter with a different sound
Anyone had this problem. I think the horns are situated behind the front bumper.

I think that there is a bass and treble horn installed one each side. Do you know if they would be of the same supply fuse or individually fused. Also where are the fuses for this, under the bonnet or inside the car. I don't really fancy having to remove the front bumper to gain access and test them.

Seriously?

In my experience of other VW Group vehicles, water gets into the horns and either creates a bad connection in the plug or corrodes the diaphragms of the horns themselves. Sometimes just spraying the connector terminals with switch cleaner and making/breaking the connection a few times will be enough to sort the issue. Other than that it's replacement. On my VW vans I got so fed up with it I moved the horns to under the bonnet on the front crossmember where they were less exposed to the crud from off the road.

It depends on what horn was fitted. There were 2 dual tones used, one with a bracket either side of the front crash bar or the other that has the 2 horns fitted to one bracket on the drivers side. If that's the case then it's really easy to access by taking the wheel off then removing the front arch liner and you will see the horns just there.

and do you know when it was built? otherwise give me the VIN
Vin number: VSSZZZKMZMR015326.
After a bit more investigation today the passenger side horn is definitely sounding I am hoping that there is a horn on the drivers side and I can access it by removing the front wheel and taking off the protection cover. According to my workshop manual the horns should be wired with a black / white hooped core from the horn relay where ever that is.

Hi,
Otherwise, I think you can access both horns, if you remove the housing under the engine. It may be simpler and qwicker than removing a wheel and its wheel arch, especially if you need to acces both horns.
