Hi everyone, I've just bought a 2008 Freetrack TDI. I am really impressed so far. She needs a really good service and I don't think she's boosting fully? Any advice on how to service the transmission and the oil specs required would be great. I also need to figure out why the radio reception is so bad? Any advice is very welcome! Thanks for having me. Cheers!

I've just bought a 57 plate freetrack tdi and I've got the same thing with not quite boosting properly!
Currently looking into it

Sorry for the delay Mr Syphon, it's been a busy week! Here she is, the bonnet is up because I've just started servicing her. So far I've done the fuel, air and cabin filters. I've cleaned the MAF sensor but, I can't see the MAP sensor? Any pointers would be most welcome! Oil change tomorrow hopefully, any tips on that would also be great. Thanks!

Hi Jimmy, I have just cleaned the MAF sensor on mine and that's made a big difference. She starts a lot better and drives a lot smoother. The fuel economy has also **** up according to the computer. I want to find the MAP sensor next and give that a good clean. Please let me know what you find out on yours and I'll keep you posted with what I find. Cheers!

I'll give those a clean too👍

I traced a fault to the swirl flap actuator not working and not holding the vacuum too.
Had the manifold off today and the swirl flap rod is leaking boost where it goes into the manifold so ordered a new manifold. Fingers crossed it was just that

I've only had it a week but only managed 36mpg driving steady so it was definitely not running right!

I'll be servicing the rear diff and final drive too soon once I get it running right

Mine returned 52 mpg when I picked it up last weekend over about 90 miles. It was in the motorway but, mostly at 50 . I didn't realise it had swirl flaps? Please let me know how you get on with the diff and final drive, I am keen to do mine but, I have no experience with these. I can't even find the oil spec! Cheers
