CUPRA Formentor multiple issues (drive assist technologies)

Hi All,

I'd like to ask people around here if anyone has encountered the same issues as I currently do.
It's been almost 6 months now that I have issues with drive assist technologies. I start my car, and almost immediately all drive assist technologies fail: Drive assist unavailable, light assist unavailable, lane assist unavailable, ACC unavailable, speed signs detection unavailable...
It's been now a 6 months fight with Cupra France to get to fix these issues and after 3 dealerships visits: nothing is done. They just changed something which was defective (a thing from which I forgot the name) and after three days with my car at the dealership, nothing is fixed, again...

Do any of you have these issues or had these issues fixed?

These days the hardware in modern vehicles is very reliable, what isn't is the software - the VAG group have a separate company called Cariad - https://cariad.technology/ who develop software code for all the VAG brands including SEAT/Cupra. Sadly something went badly wrong in Cariad that resulted in very senior executives getting sacked - in fact all of the board except one: https://www.reuters.com/business/au...-software-unit-cariad-source-says-2023-05-06/

Take the car back to the dealer (or another one if you think the place you are working with is incompetent) and have then download the error codes (car will have logged the errors) and insist that the vehicle's systems are patched right up to date. Most likely this will fix the problem - SEAT/Cupra dealers vary greatly so it is important to find one that will 'own' the problem.

Hi was this resolved. I have the same problems and the dealer (under warranty) can't find the cause.

It was resolved indeed. It seems these issues come from one of two causes, or both at the same time they told me:

- either it’s about the frontal camera being unserviceable or
- or the captors in the steering wheel being unserviceable

hope this helps… try suggesting that to the dealership you’re going at!
for my formentor it was the frontal camera being unserviceable. However I sold the car cause there were too many issues.
