DSG Gear selector fault

Yesterday in the morning after being stationary for 2 days a gear selector lever fault popped on my dash. Since it is fairly common for various errors to come and go I restarted the vehicle and error was gone even before I managed to plug in my OBDEleven. Did 500 km without further issues.

Today in the morning the error came back and now it is randomly showing and disappearing. I think it is here to stay. Booked service in 2 weeks.

Fault code is P27F500. Found some reports on the Internet, usually ends up with replacing the whole selector module 5WA713033.

Did any of you encounter this problem? What was the resolution for you?

My car is 2.0 245 DQ381 from May 2022 with 33k km on it.

Authorized workshop diagnosis is as expected - whole selector module needs to be replaced. Part is currently unavailable in my country. Waiting until they bring it into Poland.

I have got the same issue. I am waiting for workshop diagnosis. Probably the selector needs to be replaced.

Had the same warning pop up on my Formentor V2 1.5 DSG. Initially disappeared after switching car off but gradually it reappeared until it was flashing up on every start up. Managed to get it diagnosed as a gear selector lever solenoid fault but had to wait a further fortnight as the part was not available in the UK. The part is over £1000 according to my invoice so glad it was covered by warranty.

Dealership replaced the selector module. I don't know the number of a new part. After the operation they called me that an eCall error came up on the dash and they would like to keep the car for further diagnosis.

Since I already have problems trusting them I went to see the car and scan it with OBD11. In fact there were new errors related to Telematics module.

Technician followed the one about audio problem - B1994F6. One extra day for diagnosis, one for getting the parts shipped.

It ended up with additionally replacing the lights/eCall module in the roof lining.

Strange coincidence - I've never had any errors from SOS.

For the moment there are no faults while scanning. Hoping it stays like that as long as possible.

Got the same issue with gear shift lock solenoid/actuator “A” stuck Off
Code P27F500

My car is from 2021 and this error just popped few days ago at 78.687 km

So the fix is to replace the entire module unit ? That sounds expensive and I would like to investigate what part exactly failed from the module before throwing money to dealers.

If your car is out of warranty consider investigating the part they show in the following video:

Make sure that all its pins have proper contact. I presume that with time and temperature this element gets loose. It might be a thing of tightening it or bending the pins.

As suspected only some poor solenoid contact. Managed to fix it in about 30min with basically 0 costs.
