The 2.0 litre petrol EA888 engine used by VAG in Cupra, Seat, VW, Audi and Skoda performance models has a timing chain, not a cambelt.

If a Seat / Cupra dealer has suggested your cambelt needs replacing, then I‘m not sure I’d want them working on my car .

I changed my chain at ~80,000. Was having issues.

Reminds me of when I went Halfords for a free check. They recommended I replace my rear wiper as it was due. I told them I didn’t have a rear wiper, as I’d done a rear wiper delete!

Out of interest what issue's was you having to replace the chain at 80k? Just wondering if there is anything i need to watch/listen out for with mine.

Chain stretch and timing was off. Oddly, it has full service history with Seat every interval. Never missed…

Yes, but with flexible oil service the intervall can vary. Say if you change oil/filter after 10 000 km you normaly should be safe, not after 30 000 km, the upper limit .
