Hi guys / girls

I am looking for some help and advice :)
I have a 2005 Leon Cupra R and over the last couple of days the remote lock function on the key has stopped working. I have replaced the battery and re programmed a spare key but it has done nothing.

The red led light on the key fob works when i push the lock button but the car doesnt respond at all. The unlock works and the buttons in the car on the door work for unlock and lock as well, its just the key fob lock button.

Anyone have any ideas on what this could be?

Many thanks

Richard

That's a strange one..... I take it the spare key does exactly the same thing? If so then it sounds like a logic problem with the control unit. Try pulling fuse number 6 for 30 secs or so, that should cause it to reboot, see if that helps. If not then plugging it into VCDS may show something helpful.

Thanks for the reply. We have also had to disconnect the driver side passenger door now as that wont lock by any method, yet when you try to unlock the car it sounded like it was trying. We will try the above and let you know how it goes.
Thanks

No worries. If you have issues with any of the door modules, then likely something related to that. Common issue on all the mk1's. The aftermarket ones from ebay are pretty good for the £30 or so that they are.

Thanks for this, do you know if there is a guide on how to take teh rear door ones out as it seems like quite a task to do?
Thanks again

The rear doors are a real pain in the ass due to the plastic clip that holds the window to the window regulator. It's 95% the same as in this video for the mk4 golf, same plastic clip. There are no screws at the bottom of the rear door cards in ours.

Once again, thanks for all of this. It seems like it may be a weekend project! :)

You're welcome mate. Once you've done it once then it's not too bad, but first time you're probably looking at a couple of hours working at a chilled pace. Fronts are a lot less fiddly as they don't have that annoying plastic clip.

Morning, a bit of an update. My son drove the car last night and noticed the puddle light was on. It looks like the car may think the drivers door is open as the interior light would also be on if it was switched to come on🤦‍♂️ looks like we need to take out the front and rear locks now🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Ah right, would make sense as it probably won't try to lock if it thinks the drivers door is open.
