Arona FR Dynamic Chassis Control

Hey folks.

I am considering exchanging my 2016 Leon FR 1.4 TSI DSG for a new Arona FR 1.5 DSG. I really like my car, but while it is getting older I'm afraid that its maintenance will get high at a level that I prefer paying more to buy a new vehicle for peace of mind.

I test-drove an Arona 1.0 SE Technology recently, and I'm afraid I was not excited. I noticed significantly more body roll than I am used to (and like). To my surprise, the seller told me that FR's suspension is identical to SE Technology's. Is that indeed the case? I am reading online that FR and FR Sport have adaptive suspension/Dynamic Chassis Control. Is that true for both? This is not clarified in the Seat's Pricing and Specification List leaflet.

I think because your Leon is lower, and the Aron’s is higher (as it’s a small crossover), I think it’s like a Polo jacked-up, that’s why you’re experiencing more body roll. You’ll know if it has DCC when you select different driving modes and when you select the information underneath, it’ll have settings for DCC. My Leon Cupra has it. It doesn’t change the ride height, but changes the stiffness of the suspension. Have you tried the new Ford Puma? That might be more fun to drive.

Arona does not have DCC or adaptive suspension. The Ibiza FR Sport rides well and is stiffer, more like the Leon FR.

Thanks for your responses. Although it is a great vehicle and is currently available at a very good price, I feel that Arona is not the right car for me and I decided to consider other options. Cheers.

Our 2018 FR doesn't have this (AFAIK...), and the ride on its 17" wheels is firm but ok. I wouldn't want a new FR Sport with 18"-ers unless you could switch it to "soft".

Is there a non-Sport Arona FR, like the Ibiza? The Ibiza FR comes with the FR stiffer suspension, but has 17" alloys, so has a bit more comfort and lower noise than the FR Sport version. I currently have a 2021 Ibiza FR with 17" alloys and find the ride fine.

My daughter and her husband has the "top of the range" trim level 2019 Arona, it's build state - ie CAR DATA, confirms that it has dynamic or switchable suspension damping - or similar wording - but I did not find/notice any indication as to this being fitted when I serviced the brakes last Summer.
