Haha, yeah the car is quiet. It is a bit louder in Cupra/S but nothing crazy. I found sound actuator to be too loud, especially in Cupra.
Aye plus the other thing to consider is when other people are in the car. My wife’s not been in it yet. She’d probably moan about the noise and ask why do I need such a loud, fast car, bla bla bla...

Whereas without the extra noise she probably won’t even notice that she’s in a potentially pretty mental car! 🤫 🤣

I've just taken delivery of a vz2 today as a lease and waved goodbye to our cupra 300 (much missed already). Overriding impressions are brakes are rubbish and it feels almost diesel like in its power delivery (not much power in the low end but more of a cruiser). Tbh I am disappointed in the 310bhp engine. The pickup on the cupra 300 was nuts compared to this and it stopped extremely effectively from day one. I'd like to hope it's a brake bedding in issue but that doesn't explain why the engine feels a bit gutless. No DSG bangs either :'(. I feel very grown up all of a sudden.

*probably good to add that I drive these dsg cars in cupra mode and gearbox in manual mode so I can stay in control of the revs and shifts.

My CUPRA Leon VZ2 300 is well quick and a lot better than the 280 it replaced, so maybe your car has a problem.

Could be the additional weight? I guess thats why i posted in reply to the original poster on here as i had the exact same initial thoughts about the car. Not that it's really likely but i wonder if theres a way to check i actually have the 310 engine

Had my VZ2 since April last year, and my first impressions of the brakes were the same. Took quite a while to bed in, which was frustrating. They’re okay now, but I still think they could be better for a car of this performance and weight.
thanks thats helpful to know (y) at least, ill stop on them a bit over the next few weeks and see if that helps things

Is it that you have to press harder than you are used to?
Try a left foot brake and see if it feels the same.
Also can you engage abs by standing on the brakes?
From what I've been reading in this thread and others it's the brake feel and effort that seems to be the issue.

Could be they just feel much less sharp than the cupra 300 brakes and I don't remember any bed in period for that. Perhaps that pedal had less resistance giving the impression of better brakes 🤷🏼‍♂️ Time will tell I guess

Brake feel is a very subjective thing, if you think they aren’t up to the job, or under performing get them on an MOT brake tester to get definitive results to prove it’s the car or you?
