Electronic tailgate closing problem

Hi guys!
I need help with my Leon st hybrid.
It has electronic tailgate which functions normally when it is operated via key fob or via logo/button on the tailgate. The problem is when I try to close it by pulling the button located on the driver's door. This button only allows me to open the tailgate but when I try to close it by pulling the button nothing happens. Do you have any idea why this isn't operating properly.

Yes. In my car you need to hold that button to close the tailgate. I believe it functions the same in yours.

I know this is an old thread - but this might help... I had a Tiguan with the same setup - the option to Open worked with the ignition off. Option to close only worked with the ignition on (maybe the engine as well), and it was a case of holding too.
