Hi all, Really sorry to create another wheel and tyre post and I have searched the forum before posting.

Like others I am considering changing from the standard 235/35/19 on my Cupra 300 to 235/40/18 due to the state of our roads and already having to get 2 buckles fixed on the 19's.

For those who have done this what wheel width and offset did you eventually go with and has there been any negatives from the change.

I like the look of the Romac Venoms and would be going with PS4S tyres.

Many thanks in advance.

I went for Audi wheels
5x112 fitment
17x7j et 43
Centrebore 57.1

Regardless of the wheel dimensions, the spoke thickness can still catch out the unwary and stop the wheel from fitting over calipers. Best do a trial fitting unless someone else has also put Venoms on.

Romac Venoms are sound.

18" 8J wide with 225/40/18 or 235/40/18. They come in ET45 which is perfect fitment.

I had that setup on an Audi A3 which is the exact same as a Leon

Thank you. Wouldn't be against 225's but I'd like to keep the 235 tyres as like the stance they give and glad the Romac Venoms shouldn't be an issue.

Either or will be fine. 235/40/18 are considerably more expensive so i would also factor that into your decision and the extra grip / width they will give is negligible

235/40/18 rather than 225 will cause your speedo to under read slightly..
Will probably bring the speedo more accurate and true to actual speed as all cars are manufactured to read on the safe side with regards to true mph reading.

Thank you both. BigJase88, was it 225's you ran with on your Audi? That seems to be the standard size for 18 inch leon alloys but they are a 7.5 wide wheel with ET51.

I'm currently running 235/40/18 et 48 OZ wheels, the ride is night and day better than the OEM 19's

Thanks. Assuming the alloy is 8 width? Just sick of the state of the roads and can't enjoy going out for a drive without weaving all over the place or getting a massive thud throught the car if u catch a pothole or divot in road.

yes 8x18 wheel, it still rattles you if you go over a big pot hole, however its nowhere near as bad as the 19's oem. just got another set of alloys, im happy enough to have ordered 235/40/18 for those as well.

Yeah i'm not expecting it to eradicate it completely but any reduction on the impacts helps
